Hej, idag blev det ett sent inlägg. Vi fick på kvällen 22 kg kött från ekologisk uppfödd kalv direkt från en bonde här i närheten, så vi har packat iordning allt för frysen, samt insåg att frysen behövdes frostas av samtidigt.

När jag är och tränar här nere märker jag att jag är sååå svensk (eller bara Stockholmare). Har anammat att hälsa när man kommer (till alla) och när man går. Och som jag skrev här så är antalet hälsningsfraser här nere oändligt många, och naturligtvis beroende på om det är en eller flera personer som man hälsar på, då med olika ändelser. Men man pratar också med varandra när man tränar men jag tar på mig mina hörlurar och tittar ner, så då blir det inte så många tillfällen att prata med mig, hehe Men även nu i omklädningsrummet så pratar man med varandra (och är man då bara två så kan man ju inte inte svara) och idag kom jag på att ibland är jag som den döva gamla mannen i sagan "Goddag yxskaft".

Hello, today the posting is late. We got 22 kg bio meat from a farmer around the corner and we have packed it all up. As well as we realized that we needed to defrost our freezer.

When I'm going to the fitness studio I still notice that I'm really really Swedish (or just from Stockholm). I have started to say hello (to all) when I arrive and when I leave. And as I wrote here the number of greetings is infinite, and of course it is dependent of if there is one or more and if you know the people or not... And you do small talk when you do the exercises but I put on my headphones and look down, so not too many opportunities to talk to me, hehe But also now in the dressing room they like to talk (and then you are alone so what can you do??) and today I realized it was like I was like the old deaf man in the story "Hello ax shaft".

Jag är hemmastad men våra vänners österrikiska, men flera här nere har så start dialekt att jag inte förstår ett ord, verkligen ingenting... Tilltalar då någon mig, måste jag fundera ett par sekunder på vad det sa... Och då kanske jag fortfarande inte får ihop vad de sa. Fråga, konstaterande eller bara en kommentar. Och sannorlikheten för att det blir just en "Goddag yxskaft" är ganska stor. Kommer ni ihåg / har ni hört om berättelsen? En döv man sitter och tillverkar ett yxskaft och en yngling kommer förbi. Den döva mannen tänker att ynglingen först frågar vad han tillverkar men yngligen säger "Goddag" och den döva mannen "yxskaft". Mao svaret har inget med frågan att göra, och så känner jag ibland när jag svarar... och inser ibland efteråt att oj, det var visst detta de frågade om, hehe. Jag kom dock på i unga år att det oftast fungerar med att le och svara ja... men inte alltid...

I have got used to the dialect that our friends have and understand when they talk, but some people down here have such a strong dialect that I don't understand a word, really nothing... When they talk to me, I have to think a couple of second on what they said... And sometimes I still don't get it. Was is a question, or just normal small talk? And that is why I came to think about the old folk story from Norway. It is about an old deaf man who sits outdoor and is working on a ax shaft. A young man passes by and the old man thinks that the young man will ask what he is doing, an ax shaft, while the young man says Hello. I.e. the answer it totally irrelevant to the question and that is how I'm feeling sometimes when I answer something and afterwards realize, ohhh that is what they asked about, hehe. I did realize when I was young that to smile and say yes, works in many situations.. but not all...

Så antingen tror de att jag är jättesur (som inte pratar med någon medans jag bara är normalt svensk) eller dum (som svara fel eller konstigt på en normal konversation). Vet inte vilket som är värst? Catharina

So either they think that I'm really ignorant (that refuses to talk small talk while I'm just a normal Swede) or just stupid (that answers wrong / strange on the normal a normal conversation). Not sure which is worst? Ciao Catharina

Städerska. | Cleaning Lady.

Godmorgon, vädret växlar tokigt mycket just nu. Snö i flera dagar, nu ett par dagar med närmare 20 grader och sedan mer snö att vänta senare i veckan, och då väntas det typ en halv meter snö...

Vi har ju två stugor, strax nedanför vårt egna hus, som vi hyr ut; Chalet am Jet. Under högsäsong (på vintern) har vi städare, tufft att städa två stugor på 85 kvm vardera med totalt 16 sängar (med sängkläder), och att få till allt mellan 10-15 när det är ut-&in-checkning. Men under vår första icke snösäsong (mao vår, sommar & höst) tänkte vi städa själva. Idag var det "premiär" och fint väder dessutom så enkelt & praktiskt att skaka mattorna utomhus mm

Good Morning, the weather is crazy. So much snow until last Sunday and now all is gone (in the village) and close to 20 degrees for a couple of days, then more snow later in the week, expecting half a meter new snow...

We have two cottages / Chalets that we have right below our own house that we are renting out; Chalet am Jet. In high season (i.e. in the winter) we have cleaners, too heavy to clean both Chalets; each one on 85 sqm and 8 beds (with bed linen), and to get it nice and proper between 10-15 when it is checking out & checking in. But during our first no-snowy season (i.e. spring, summer & autumn) we have planned to clean them ourselves. And today was "premier" and nice weather as well so easy to shake the carpets outdoor etc .

Skojade tidigare om att lyckades jag inte som chef i det globala företaget som jag då jobbade i kunde jag ju alltid bli städerska i alperna, haha Nu är det verklighet, och det med en härlig känsla att jobba för sitt egna företag och sina egna stugor. Att göra det fint för nya gäster är faktiskt en njutning (istället för att se det som att man städar efte de förra gästerna). Blommor saknas just nu men vi flyttar dem upp och ner mellan stugorna och huset när vi drar ner på värmen när det står tomma.

Was joking before that if I didn't have a success as a manger in the global company I worked in before, I could always be a cleaning lady in the Alps, haha And now it is true, but actually a really good feeling to do this for our own business and our own property. To make it nice for new guests is actually mindfulness (instead of looking at it as we are cleaning after the former guests). Flowers are missing since we moving them up between our house and the Chalets due to less heating between the guests.

Jobbar fortfarande på att få lite rätt österrikisk knicks på kuddarna, går väl så där eller hur?

Still have to practice some more to get the right Austrian toch on the pillows, and need more practice, right?

Har alltid lyxat till det med fina tvålar till gästerna. Har haft Molton Brown i många år men just nu har vi svenska märket Björk & Berries, naturligtvis både tvål och handkräm.

Idag blir det först träning sedan blir det privat ekonomi och deklarationsdaxs, så espressomaskinen är laddad. Vi hörs! Catharina

A bit of luxury for the guests with nice soap in the bathrooms. Have had Molton Brown for many years but this season we change to the Swedish bran Björk & Berries, and both hand soap and lotion.

Today the schedule is fitness studio and the private finances and work with my Swedish tax return for 2016, so the espresso machine is ready!! See you later. Ciao Catharina

Happy Monday! Ja, det har ju varit ett av mina mål generellt sett i min omställning, och det är att känna att måndag är en bra dag. Det har tagit tid, men nu är jag där. Och ni som läst min blogg ett tag vet ju också att jag i nyårslöfte hade två mål; 1) en vit månad och det klarade jag av i januari och 2) inte äta något sött och det klarade jag fram till veckan före påsk... då dök jag totalt ner i godisträsket... men 1) jag åt mindre mängd godis än vad jag tidigare gjort och 2) skam den som ger sig... så nu är jag på igen. Denna gången fram till midsommar. Det kommer att gå, för då skall vi åka till Kroatien på semester och vill då hoppa i en baddräkt (som verkar vara årets IT-plagg) så både vision och mål är tydliga. Så "here I go again"!! Catharina

Happy Monday! Yes, that was one of my goals for my new changed life, i.e. to feel that Monday is a good day. It has taken rather long for me reach this, but now I'm there. And the ones of you that follows my blog knows that I made a New Year's Resolution with two goals; 1) white month and that I could tick off end of January and 2) not to eat any sweet things and did it until the week before Easter... then I couldn't resist chocolate and crisps and cookies any more... but 1) at least I eat less then before and 2) shame on the ones that gives up... so now I have re-started again. This time until midsummer. And I'm sure I will reach it, because then we will go on vacation to Croatia and want to jump into a swimsuit (that seems to be the IT thing this summer) so both the vision and the goal is pretty clear! Tarot Cards.

Hej, så här på söndags eftermiddagen, mellan två långhelger, skönt!. Har fixat hemma idag samt varit och tränat, med nytt rekort på cykeln med 22 km på 1 timma, lite stolt och det känns bra i kroppen. Det kanske också blir en kvällspromenad med min kompis Mona i vårt vintriga Flachau.

Läser ju Gwyneth Paltrows blogg GOOP och hon hade för ett tag sedan ett inlägg om tarotkort (Get Carded). Har svårt med länkar idag så ni får leta upp själva :( Och jag läste inlägget och kom på att jag har ju tarotkort hemma. Köpte dem för massa år sedan mest för att de var så vackra. Det är från Niki de Saint Phallets Tarotträdgård i Toskana (och namnet på italienska är ju sååå vackert; Il Giardino dei Tarocchi) där hon har byggt flertalet av tarotfigurerna (stora statyer där vissa är upp till 2 -3 meter), allt blev inte färdigt innan hon dog. Men ett helt fantastiskt ställe, värt ett besök, om ni är i närheten av Capalbio!!!

Hello, Sunday afternoon, nice! Between two longer week-ends, nice! Have been fixing at home today and also been to the fitness studio, where I manage to make a new record on the bike 22 km on 1 hour. Tonight probably a evening walk with my friend Mona in our winter wonderland Flachau.

I'm reading Gwyneth Paltrows blog GOOP and she had a posting about Tarot Cards (Get Carded). I have problems with the links today so you need to look it up yourself, sorry! I read the posting and realized that I have a set of cards at home. Bought it many years ago because they looked so beautiful. It is from Niki de Saint Phallets Tarot Garden in Tuscany (and the name in Italian is soo beautiful; Il Giardino dei Tarocchi) where she has build many of the figures (large ones some up to 2-3 meters), but she didn't manage to finish them all before she died. A beautiful place, worth a visit, if you are close to Capalbio!!!

Och mest på skoj plockade jag fram kortleken och läste instruktionerna, en kväll i veckan som gick, och gjorde en tarotsession. De korten som jag drog var The Moon, The Choice och The World, just i den ordningen. Nedan följer lite information om vart och ett av de tre korten, taget ur broschyren som tillhör korten (har inte översatt dem, hoppas det är ok?)

And most for fun I decided to go and get the cards and read the instructions in the blog posting, and made a session. The cards that I draw was The Moon, The Choice och The World, in the order. Below you see a short description for each card, taken from the brochure that belongs to the cards.

The Moon - Card no XVlll - The Moon is the card of creative imagination and negative illusion. The Moon is an interior card. Mysterious. Enigmatic. The moon affects the tides of the seas, the menstruation of women, childbirth, and all things connected to the ebb and flow of water. The card of the Moon can be perilous or offer great imaginative power.

The Choice (The Lovers) - Card no Vl - Some Tarot decks call this card the "lovers". Adam and Eve were the first couple and made the first choice. That is why I (Niki) have chosen them to represent this card. The card implies there is a wrong and right choice. A mistake can bring one closer to the truth of ourselves.

The World - Card no XXl - The World is the card of the splendor of interior life. It is the last card of the Major Arcana, and the spiritual experience of the game. Within the card lies the mystery of the WORLD. It is the answer to the Spinx.

The Cards - If life is a game of cards, we are born without knowing the Rules. Yet we must play our hand. Is the tarot only a card game, or is there a philosophy behind it?

Tro vad man vill, men det känns verkligen som att korten visar min väg just nu. Har ni varit med om någon tarotsession? Catharina

Hej, gårdagens skidåkning var HELT FANTASTISK!!! Vi åkte till Zauchensee (som ligger runt hörnet från oss), som ligger på drygt 2000 m. Här var det pudersnö, -10 grader, blå himmel och stålande sol. Bildregnet (tagna med våra mobiler) får tala sitt tydliga språk. Vi körde från 8.45 till 12.00 tills benmusklerna var fulla av mjölksyra, upp och ner, upp och ner. Sedan åkte vi hem och drack öl på vår terass i strålande sol. Nu är säsongen över denna gången. Perfekt avslut!! Catharina

Hello, yesterdays skiing was FABULOUS!!! We went to Zauchensee (around the corner from us, on approx 2000 m altitude. Here it was powder snow, -10 degrees, blue sky and sun. The photos (from our mobile phones) speaks for itself. We went skiing from 8.45 to 12.00 without any breaks but then our legs was soo tired and full of latic acid. Then we went home to our terrace and drank beer and had an early AW in the sun. Now the season is over for this time. Perfect finish!! Ciao Catharina
