Hej, allt väl? Idag har vi åkt skidor i snö och dimma. Ja, för det är inte alltid sol och blå himmel här, hehe. Som ni kanske vet vid det här laget så tycker jag om att läsa, och har läst massa under 2017. Kika gärna på kategori Reading. För 2018 tänkte jag gå igenom mina bokhyllor och läsa det jag har köpt på mig genom åren. Ger gärna bort mina böcker när jag läst dem, så säg till om ni vill ha någon, så kan jag skicka en eller två till dig. 

Hello, all well? Today we have been skiing in snow and fog. Well, yes it is not always sun and blue sky here, hehe And as you might know I like to read and have read a lot during 2017. De två senare böckerna hänger ihop med mina nyårslöften 2018, så passar som hand i handske. Skriver lite recensioner när jag har kommit en bit på väg. Och lägger upp dem på Goodreads. Bra ställe att ha koll på böcker som jag läst när jag gillar att ge bort dem.

Helgens läsning. | This weekends reading list.

Godmorgon! Nu är vi i Bosnien-i-Herzegovina och hälsar på Bojans mamma. Vi tar en snabbvisit här och åker hem på söndag igen. Ja, kort utifrån att det är ca 70 mil att köra i en riktning så lite långt, men hon är ju ensam sedan Bojans pappa gick bort i våras. Här blir det mycket att Bojans och hans mamma sitter o pratar och pratar och pratar (japp, de pratar mycket), och då det bara är på Kroatiska, då hon inte kan något annat språk, så sitter jag med och läser lite böcker. Närvarande, men ändå inte långtråkigt, då jag ändå följer med vad de pratar om, men samtidigt har jag något att göra. 

Köpte två böcker på flygplatsen i Kapstaden; Jassy Mackenzie - Bad Seeds; en deckare som utspelar sig i Johannesburg och Mohamed El Bachiri -  A Jihad for Love; muslim som förlorade sin fru i terrordådet i Bryssels tunnelbana. 

I oktober återkommer jag med recensioner på dessa samt även I Love Dick av Chris Kraus och Kaninjägaren av Lars Kepler som jag läste ut i somras. Vi hörs! Catharina

Good Morning! We are now in Bosnia-i-Herlzegovia visiting Bojan's mother. We are here for a long weekend and since she is alone since his father died earlier this year, we wanted to see her. And they talk a lot, only i Croatian since she can't talk any other language. And I want to be present, but to just sit by hour after hour after hour (yes, they talk a lot), so I sit with them and read my books. Perfect combination! 

I bought two books at the airport in Cape Town; Jassy Mackenzie - Bad Seeds;  a crime novel taken place in Johannesburg and Mohamed El Bachiri - A Jihad for Love;  a muslim who's wife died in the terror attack in Brussels underground. 

In October I will make a review of these two books as well as I Love Dick av Chris Kraus and the latest crime novel by Lars Kepler that I read in the summer. Stay tuned! See you later! Ciao Catharina

Mina sommarböcker. | My summer reading list.

Hej, sitter i sängen och myser. Ute regnar det ett stilla sommarregn och maken "spelar" tennis. Precis när hans tennis skulle börja så började det regna så de dricker lite öl istället. Han spelar tennis varje tisdagkväll och då passar jag på att mysa. Pratade med Gaby, skulle gjort en walk-and-talk (vilket Gaby gjorde på vackra Djurgården) men jag satt i soffan och pratade istället. 

Hello, sitting in bed relaxing. Outside it is raining, a soft summer rain and my husband is "playing" tennis, i.e. drinking beer (since it started to rain just when they were going to start to play). He is playing every Tuesday evening with his friends and I'm having an evening of my own, nice!! Talked to Gaby, was planning a walk-and-talk but the rain changed it to a sit-and-talk in the sofa instead. Gaby, however, took a walk in at beautiful Djurgården.

Have just finished Kaninjägaren (The Rabbit Hunter) and it got a weak 3 out of 5 in rating from me, and have started to read I Love Dick. You can read a really nice review at Alexandras blog (aka Mimmi). What are you reading this summer? Any tips?

Tarot Cards.

Hej, så här på söndags eftermiddagen, mellan två långhelger, skönt!. Har fixat hemma idag samt varit och tränat, med nytt rekort på cykeln med 22 km på 1 timma, lite stolt och det känns bra i kroppen. Det kanske också blir en kvällspromenad med min kompis Mona i vårt vintriga Flachau. 

Läser ju Gwyneth Paltrows blogg GOOP och hon hade för ett tag sedan ett inlägg om tarotkort (Get Carded). Har svårt med länkar idag så ni får leta upp själva :( Och jag läste inlägget och kom på att jag har ju tarotkort hemma. Köpte dem för massa år sedan mest för att de var så vackra. Det är från Niki de Saint Phallets Tarotträdgård i Toskana (och namnet på italienska är ju sååå vackert; Il Giardino dei Tarocchi) där hon har byggt flertalet av tarotfigurerna (stora statyer där vissa är upp till 2 -3 meter), allt blev inte färdigt innan hon dog. Men ett helt fantastiskt ställe, värt ett besök, om ni är i närheten av Capalbio!!!

Hello, Sunday afternoon, nice! Between two longer week-ends, nice! Have been fixing at home today and also been to the fitness studio, where I manage to make a new record on the bike 22 km on 1 hour. Tonight probably a evening walk with my friend Mona in our winter wonderland Flachau. 

I'm reading Gwyneth Paltrows blog GOOP and she had a posting about Tarot Cards (Get Carded). I have problems with the links today so you need to look it up yourself, sorry! I read the posting and realized that I have a set of cards at home. Bought it many years ago because they looked so beautiful. It is from Niki de Saint Phallets Tarot Garden in Tuscany (and the name in Italian is soo beautiful; Il Giardino dei Tarocchi) where she has build many of the figures (large ones some up to 2-3 meters), but she didn't manage to finish them all before she died. A beautiful place, worth a visit, if you are close to Capalbio!!! 

Och mest på skoj plockade jag fram kortleken och läste instruktionerna, en kväll i veckan som gick, och gjorde en tarotsession. De korten som jag drog var The Moon, The Choice och The World, just i den ordningen. Nedan följer lite information om vart och ett av de tre korten, taget ur broschyren som tillhör korten (har inte översatt dem, hoppas det är ok?) 

And most for fun I decided to go and get the cards and read the instructions in the blog posting, and made a session. The cards that I draw was The Moon, The Choice och The World, in the order. Below you see a short description for each card, taken from the brochure that belongs to the cards. 

The Moon - Card no XVlll - The Moon is the card of creative imagination and negative illusion. The Moon is an interior card. Mysterious. Enigmatic. The moon affects the tides of the seas, the menstruation of women, childbirth, and all things connected to the ebb and flow of water. The card of the Moon can be perilous or offer great imaginative power. 

The Choice (The Lovers) - Card no Vl - Some Tarot decks call this card the "lovers". Adam and Eve were the first couple and made the first choice. That is why I (Niki) have chosen them to represent this card. The card implies there is a wrong and right choice. A mistake can bring one closer to the truth of ourselves. 

The World - Card no XXl - The World is the card of the splendor of interior life. It is the last card of the Major Arcana, and the spiritual experience of the game. Within the card lies the mystery of the WORLD. It is the answer to the Spinx. 

The Cards - If life is a game of cards, we are born without knowing the Rules. Yet we must play our hand. Is the tarot only a card game, or is there a philosophy behind it?

Marsböcker. | March readinglist.

Hej, har tyvärr gått och blivit sjuk så har legat i sängen sedan igår kväll. Vilar helt idag, orkar inte ens läsa, så mår inte alls bra, men hoppas vara på benen imorgon eller i övermorgon. 

Här är vad jag läst sedan januari. Har läst ut The Mistletoe Murder av P.D. James. En novellsamling som jag njöt av att läsa. Det var intressant att läsa hur hon själv skrev i prologuen om just att fånga allt i en deckarberättelse i en kort novell. Och hon lyckas måla upp scenerier på ett fint och subtilt sätt. Läs här om hur hon beskriver hur man som läsare får se Stutleight Manor första gången: "It loomed up out of the darkness, a stark shape against a grey sky pierced with a few high stars. And then the moon moved from behind a cloud and the house was revealed; beauty, symmetry and mystery bathed in white light". Och man vet att något kommer att hända... Rekommenderas varmt! 

Hello, have got sick since yesterday so will be in bed the whole day today. Too tired to do anything, so not well at all, but hopefully I will be ok in a couple of days time. 

Here is now what I have read since January. Finished The Mistletoe Murder by P.D. James. Short stories that I really enjoyed to read. Interesting also how she in the prologue described how to capture a crime novel in a short story format. And this is how you as a read enter the Stutleight Manor the first time;  "It loomed up out of the darkness, a stark shape against a grey sky pierced with a few high stars. And then the moon moved from behind a cloud and the house was revealed; beauty, symmetry and mystery bathed in white light". And you know something will happen... Can warmly recommend this book! 

Läste också ut Patricia Cornwells Chaos som fortsatte att vara lika långsam, och typ 2/3 in hade man äntligen kommit fram till mordoffret. Tyvärr inte en bok att rekommendera.

Did also finish Patricia Cornwells Chaos, but it continue to be soo slow that I got irritated. 2/3 in an you finally got to know something about the dead body. Unfortunately not a book I could recommend. 

Har inte läst ut några mer böcker men har läst massa annat som inredningstidningar och bloggar, vilket är intressant, kul och inspirerande. Nästa bok att ta mig an är Johanna Ekström Dagbok 1996-2002 som jag fick i julklapp av mina goa tjejer. Hejdå från en trött Catharina, trots att jag sover och sover!

This is what I have finished reading, but I have been reading Interior Magazines as well as a lot of blogs, interesting, fun and inspiring, so I have done my share of reading. Next book to read is a Swedish book that I got in Christmas present from my girls. Goodbye from a really tired me! Ciao Catharina
