Hi! Just imagine—we’re staying in a castle now: Château de Tayac in Uzerche. This is where our friend’s parents live during the summer.

This castle is located within the village, which is common for villages dating back to the early Middle Ages. It has also been passed down from generation to generation—another common occurrence, provided the family has money. After all, owning a castle is expensive—what with repairs, maintenance, heating, and so on.early

Vi är åtta personer som bor här tillsammans. Min kompis förädlrdrar Jacqueline och Pierre, deras döttrar Beatrice (vår kompis) och hennes syster Florence, vår kompisar Anne och John, och jag och maken.

There are eight of us living here together: my friend’s parents, Jacqueline and Pierre; their daughters Beatrice (our friend) and her sister Florence; our friends Anne and John; and my husband and me.

Att få äran att bo här, i tre nätter är helt fantastiskt! Maken och jag sover som en prins och prinsessa i vårt vackra sovrum.

Having the honor of staying here for three nights is absolutely fantastic! My husband and I are sleeping like a prince and princess in our beautiful bedroom.

Familjen Caston -Joubert är så otroligt generösa. Och jag älskar verkligen 80-åringar. De är fantastiska.

Vi äter frukost tillsammans i den vackra trädgården. Naturligtvis med färsk bröd från bageriet: baugette, croissants mm med smör (åh älskar franskt smör) och hemmagjord sylt. Kaffe, naturligtvis.

We have breakfast together in the beautiful garden. Naturally, with fresh bread from the bakery—baguettes, croissants, and more—along with butter (oh, I love French butter) and homemade jam. Coffee, of course.

Att sitta i salongen eller ute i trädgården efter middagen är så härligt! Sommarvärmen omsluter oss. Och tornseglarna flyger graciöst omkring i luften. Visst du att de lever sitt liv i luften? De är bara på ’marken’ när de bygger bo och värper sina ägg. Helt otroligt.

Sitting in the drawing room or out in the garden after dinner is so lovely! The summer warmth envelops us, and swifts fly gracefully through the air. Did you know that they live their lives in the air? They are only on the ground when building their nests and laying their eggs. It's truly incredible.

Nu skall vi strax sova sista natten här och imorgon bär det av mot Bordeaux. Och mot värmen. Här har det varit sköna 30 grader, men de närmaste dagarna blir det närmare 40 grader. Vi hörs! Ciao Catharina
