Ett normalt storstadsliv, en vecka eller två. | A normal city life, a week at the time.

Hej, nu blir det lite långt mellan inläggen men jag har fullt upp, hehe. Eller snarare jag är tillbaka med att leva ett normal liv, mao jobba heltid. Åtminstone tillfälligt. Det är kul! Jag har ju ett interimsuppdrag och jobbar dels på kontoret och dels på distans. Nu är jag på plats i Stockholm och tar tidigt morgontåg in till stan för att jobba på kontoret. Tänk, det trodde jag aldrig att JAG skulle gå hemifrån tjugo i sju på morgonen för att ta mig till jobbet. Framme med en kaffe framför datorn halv åtta.

Hello, a fewer number of postings at the moment but I’m busy, hehe Or rather I’m living a more normal life, i.e. working full time. For a short time. But I like it. Have an interim assignment and I’m working partly from office and party from home. At the moment I’m in Stockholm and I’m taking the early morning train into the city. I never thought that I would be in the office at 7.30 AM sipping my second cup of coffee, leaving home at 6.40 AM, without any big issues on contrary. I’m happy with it.

Och tänk att det är så kul. Trivs med arbetsuppgifterna och känner att jag tillför något. Maxar dagarna med korta luncher, en lite kaffepaus på em med kollegor (vilket jag aldrig tidigare gjort) och sitter längre på kvällarna. Sedan hem för middag och lite umgänge. Men jag har ju inte ett helt normal liv då jag här gör minimalt med shopping och städning. Lite samma känsla som när jag jobbade deltid i Frankfurt i tre år. Brukar ju snarare ha fullt upp med att träffa kompisar men känner att efter långa arbetsdagar så behöver jag vila. Så just nu prioriterar mig själv. Märker ju också bland kompisar att många har gamla föräldrar, tonårsbarn, husdjur som de behöver sköta om / oroa sig för. Men den tiden är förbi för mig/oss.

And I like it. Both being in the office and with the assignment. Have long days with short lunches, a coffee break in the afternoon (never done that before) and working later in the evening. Then home for dinner. But this is in a way not a normal life since I don’t have all this other stuff such as household work. A bit the same when I was living in Frankfurt part time for three years. I’m rather busy with seeing friends but this time with long working hours I need my time to rest. So prioritizing me, this time. Also noticing among friends that they have old parents, teenage children, animals that they need to take care of / worrying about. But that time is past, for me.

Har dock hunnit med att umgås lite kort med mina två fantastiska döttrar. Det blev en mysig födelsedagskväll med Mimmi i måndags. 27 år. Vi båda behövde jobba sent så det blev en kopp te hem med smörgåsar. Precis vad vi behövde och ville. Sov över, också. Så extra mysigt att ta sällskap till jobbet dagen därpå. Hann med en kväll till, då all tre tillsammans. Gaby gjorde världens godaste pasta puttanesca och så gjorde vi denna goda förrätt som jag velat pröva ett tag. Chips, löjrom, creme fraische, röd lök och dill. Riktigt mums.

Have spent some time with my fantastic daughters, of course. Had a really nice birthday celebration with my oldest on Monday. She is now 27 years old. We both needed to work late but we met up at her place and had some time, and we did a sleep-over. Nice to go to work together the next day. Also had an evening, all three together. Gaby made the most fab pasta puttanesca!! And I wanted to try this starter; crisps, roe, creme fraische, red onion and dill. Really nice and tasty!!

Sprang en kväll förbi Svensk Tenn på hemvägen. Ville köpa ett par presenter till våra sydafrikanska vänner. Hittade något till dem alla. Inget ömtåligt så lätt att packa ner. Ha en riktigt mysig solig dag! Vi hörs! Ciao Catharina

Interim jobb. | Interim Assignment.

Hej, jag har det roligt hela dagen på mitt nya jobb. Har fått möjlighet att hjälpa till tillfälligt i ett företag. Jobbar just med att lägga upp data i ett nytt system samt att skriva instruktioner och hjälpa till att implementera det i organisationen.

Hello, I really enjoy all day the whole day right now. Have got the opportunity to help with a couple of assignments for a company. Working on data input in a new system, write instructions and helping them with the implementation.

Just nu fungerar det för min rygg att jobba heltid så planerar att vara här heltid fram till operationen. Det ser ut att finnas saker som jag kan hjälpa till med, och kul att få hjälpa till där de behöver. Och skönt att också ha tid att göra allt ordentligt som att testa systemet, fundera och ringa support för att få klarhet på alla frågetecken. Riktigt roligt måste jag säga.

I’m working full time at the moment, which is ok with my back. And planning to do so until it’s time for my operation. It seems that I will have things to do and it’s really nice to be able to help.

Och det känns som att gå tillbaka nästan 20 år i tiden och jag är numera Catharina Mabon, igen. Jag är tillbaka på min gamla arbetsplats där jag jobbade från 1995-2006. Samma men ändå annorlunda, men på ett bra sätt. Det är riktigt kul att gå till jobbet då det är en bra arbetsplats med bra stämning bland medarbetarna. Kändes lite ovant att jobba 8 timmarsdagar de första dagarna. Men nu går det bättre men är fortfarande liiiite trött på kvällarna, hehe

And it feels like going back in time, almost 20 years and I’m now Catharina Mabon, again. I’m back to where I worked between 1995-2006. A lot have changed but only to the better and it’s really nice people working in the company. I wasn’t used to work 8 hours per day and was really tired the first couple of days, but now I’m used to it, almost. But still a bit tired in the evenings.

Hittade mina Ferragamo-skor i en flyttlåda så dem plockade jag fram. Köpte dem för sex år sedan och tycker fortfarande att de funkar, absolut.

Så nästan två veckor kvar att jobba. Kul! Så dagarna rullar på. Hittar på saker på kvällarna med kompisar eller med döttrarna, kanske två/tre gånger i veckan, men känner att jag behöver vila lite emellan. Och tycker att det känns som ett bra upplägg.

Har fått kallelse till operationen nu också. Skall vara på sjukhuset 06.00 den 13 mars. Om det tiden nu inte ändras. Preliminärt sker hemgång den 16/3. Lite nervöst men skall bli skönt att få det gjort. Vi ses! Ciao Catharina

Found my Ferragamo shoes in a box and are using them everyday. Bought them 6 years ago.

Have almost two weeks to go until the big day; i.e. the operation. Set for 06.00 Wednesday 13/3 and planned to be there until 16/3. Until then I will be working, seeing family and friends! A good combination and the time will fly.A bit nervous but happy to get closer in time, and to finally get the operation. See you! Ciao Catharina
