Godmorgon, igår hade vi en helmysig dag tillsammans med våra vänner; familjen Cehic. Emir, pappa i familjen, kommer från samma hemstad som Bojan, Zavidovici i B-i-H och vi tillbringade dagen med hans fru och två döttrar; Eda och Mia.

Good Morning, yesterday we had a really nice day together with our friends; the Cehic Family. Emir, the father in the family is from the same hometown as Bojan, Zavidovici in B-i-H and we spend the day together with his wife and two daughters; Eda and Mia.

De bjöd in oss till sin fina lägenhet precis vid havet i byn Medulin, som ligger strax söder om Pula. Och jag ville gärna åka till Pula för att bl.a. se den gamla amfiteatern. Har ju varit i Pula tidigare, men då endast på flygplatsen för att hämta Mimmi & Gaby. Så detta passade ju som hand i handske.

They invited us for lunch to their apartment just by the sea in the small villages called Medulin, that is just south of Pula. And I wanted to see the old Arena in Pula, so we decided to do some sightseeing together in the morning. The only time I have gone to Pula before is to pick up Mimmi and Gaby at the airport.

Vi åkte redan vid åtta för att hinna promenera i Pula innan det blev för varmt. Och kolla hur fin amfiteatern är! Vi drack en kaffe med denna fina utsikten.

We left before eight in the morning in order to get to Pula before it got to hot. And see how beautiful the Arena is. We had a morning coffee to with this view.

Här har de varje sommar flera konserter. I sommar kommer bl.a. Tom Jones, Sting och Zucchero hit. Hehe musik för min generation och lite äldre...

Here they have a lot of concerts each summer. This year is is among others Tom Jones, Sting and Zucchero. Hehe realized that this is music from my generation and older...

Vi promenerade sedan vidare och oj vad många fina hus. En fröjd för ögat.

After seeing the Arena we continued our walk to the old town. And o dear, so many lovely houses, everywhere!

Sedan åkte vi till Medulin och badade samt hade en jättemysig lunch och åt en fantastisk god tonfisk på familjen Cehic terass. Ännu en fantastisk dag här i Kroatien med familj och vänner! Idag har vi vår sista dag här, för vi tänkter åka toktidigt på lördag pga alla köer genom alla gränskontroller. Och dagen idag är full av aktiviteter; bada en sista gång, köpa lite saker, äta lunch, sedan köra Mimmi till Pula (och ja denna gången till flygplatsen) för hon flyger till Rom / Toskana och sedan packa våra saker och mysa på terassen en sista gång. Vi ses! Catharina

Then we headed to Medulin. We spend a couple of hours by the sea and then we had a lovely lunch at the terrace of the Cehic Family apartment. Another really really nice day here in Croatia with family and friends. Today is our last day here since we are planning to leave really early on Saturday, in order to try to bet the queues through the boarder controls going back home. And today is also an early start since we want to go swimming, buy a couple of things, have lunch, drive Mimmi to Pula (yes this time to the airport) since is flying to Rome / Tuscany and then some packing. Piff och Puff. | Chip ´n´ Dale

Hej, strax åker vi till Pula, en liten stad som ligger ca 6 mil söder om Porec och som är Istriens "huvudstad". Vi skall turista lite där och hälsa på vänner. Ni får se bilder imorgon.

Bojan tycker att jag och Jelena är som Piff och Puff, och snattrar hela tiden (men inget bråk). Kul att ha en kompis här nere som man kan umgås med. Det blir annars mycket manlig vänskap, som är en stark tradition här i balkan.

Hello, soon of to Pula, the "capital" here in Istrien. It is approximately 60 km south of Porec. We will do some sightseeing and meet up some friends. You will see the pics tomorrow.

Bojan thinks that me and Jelena is like Chip ´n´ Dale, we talk the whole time (but no fighting). Really really nice to have a friend down here that I can spend time with. Otherwise it is a male friendship kind of world down here in the Balkan.

Jelena är tandläkare med egen praktik. Ovan ser ni henne till vänster, med sin tandsköterska. Duktig som bara den, och hon är ett föredöme att alltid lära sig mer och mer och utvecklas hela tiden. Och har ni sett en sötare tandläkare? Ingen tandläkarskräck här inte.

Jelena is a dentist with her own practice. And above you see here, to the left, with her nurse. And she is really competent and she is always developing and learning new things, impressive! And have you seen how cute she is? No fear of dentist here!

Hej, nu har lugnet lagt sig och nu njuter vi av sol och salta bad! Här är det behagliga 30 grader!

Hello, now the real vacation feeling has arrived and we are really enjoying the sun and salty water! Here is is 30 degrees, hmmm.

Sena luncher hör ju också semester till. Här är vi på väg till fiskaffären.

Late lunched is also part of the vacation. Here we are on our way to the fish shop.

Här är fiskaffären och här är vi typ varannan dag och plockar vad som ser gott ut av nattens fångst.

And here is our fish shop and we are basically here every second day and you never really know what to get since it depends on what the fishermen has caught in the night.

Maken grillar all vår mat på i vårt utekök!

And husband is grilling all our food in the outdoor kitchen!

Ibland tar vi det lugnt på kvällen och stannar hemma i huset och ibland åkter vi in till Porec. Igår träffade vi Jelena och Nina för att gå lite längs strandpromenaden inne i Porec.

Sometimes we take it easy and stay at home and sometimes we go to Porec. Yesterday we met Jelena and Nina to take a stroll along the promenade in Porec.

Maken fick en födelsedagsprestent till slut. Och han blev så glad!

And he got a birthday present at last. And he was happy as a kid!

Och här solar vi på dagarna och dricker drinkar på kvällarna, till denna utsikten...

Min morgonrutin. | My morning routine.

Hej, när jag var ung studsade jag upp (tja kanske inte riktigt men nästan) ur sängen och var ute genom ytterdörren typ 20 minuter senare, fixad och klar, men nu behöver jag mer tid på mig. Och har kommit på att jag behöver nästan 1 timma för att känna mig redo för dagens program. I Flachau lämnar jag maken i sängen och går ner till köket och 1) dricker mitt citronvatten 2) sätter på P1 för nyheter och analyser 3) sätter på min La Pavoni och gör mig en kopp cappuccino och 4) kollar mail och läser bloggar på paddan och 5) gör min morgonsmoothie på min hemmagjorda kefir och utvalda frukter och bär. Sedan är jag redo för dagen.

Hi, when I was young I bounced out of bed (well, almost anyway) and was out through the door 20 minutes later. But today I need more time and have realized that I need almost 1 hour to feel ready to start the day. In Flachau I leave my husband in bed and goes downstairs to the kitchen and 1) drink my lemon water 2) puts on the Swedish Radio channel P1 (news, culture and politics) 3) start up my La Pavoni coffe maker and makes a cappuccino and 4) read mail and blogs on my iPad and 5) making my morning smoothie on my home made kefir with misc fruits and berries. Then I'm ready for the day!

På semester blir det nästan samma, fast här sätter jag mig vid poolen och gör samma steg som ovan förutom att La Pavonin byts mot kaffebryggare och att jag byter ut frukostsmothien mot yogurt och min hemmagjorda granola som jag tagit med, och med lite färsk melon. Idag hade jag sovmorgon så var inte uppe och ute vid poolen förrän vid halv tio, och då börjar det program som jag gillar allra minst; Ring P1. Men scrollade vidare på P1 tablå och hittade ett fint program, från 2012, som jag inte kunder sluta att tänka på under hela dagen.

On the vacation the routine is almost the same, but here I'm sitting by the pool and the La Pavoni has been changed to a normal coffee machine and the smoothie is yogurt with my homemade granola, which I prepared at home before we left, and with a slice of two of some of the tasty melons that we get here. Today I was sleeping in so I wasn't by the pool until 9.30 and then the program that I like least on the Swedish Radio starts, so I was searching and found a really interesting program from 2012, that I thought about the whole day.

Programmet heter Sommar utan män och ligger under rubriken Kvinnlig frigörelse. Och handlar om kvinnor i min ålder och som kämpar om att få behålla den kvinnliga avdelningen på Saltholmens kallbadhus. Så ärligt och fint om deras livsöden och om kvinnor som är själva, INTE ensamma. Gå in och lyssna!!! Och förra året då? Jo, då var vi här; i samma hus men bara jag och Bojan, då hade Mimmi och Gaby (mina döttrar) åkt till Florida för att hälsa på sin pappa och hans "nya" familj. Vi ses! Catharina

Mysig helg i Porec. | Cosy weekend in Porec.

Hej, det var Bojans födelsedag igår. Vi hade en helmysig dag, se bildregnet nedan.

Hello, it was Bojan's birthday yesterday. It was so nice, see all the photos below.

Vi grillade havskräftor och pilgrimsmusslor hemma till lunch. Här i Kroatien köper man färska pilgrimsmusslor i skalen och får om man vill, de rensade i fiskeaffären.

We grilled crayfish and scallops at home for lunch. Here i Croatia you buy the scallops fresh with the shells, and if you want, they clean them at the fish market.

Och du grillar dem genom att lägga skalen på grillen och blanda till en bladning med pressad citron, skivad vitlök, persilja och olivolja och häller över

And you grill them by putting the shells on the grill and put a mixture of lemon juice, sliced garlic, parsley and olive oil and just pour it over.

Vid fem gav vi oss av för att träffa våra kompisar Sander och Jelena och vi träffades på Sanders bar; Villa Club som är ett kafe på dagen och ett disco på kvällen. Och ligger precis vid vattnet. Här badade vi, drack drinkar...

And at five we met up with our friends Sander and Jelena and we met at Sander's bar; Villa Club. It is a cafe during the day and a disco at night. And is just by the sea! Here we were swimming, drinking drinks...

...och Jelena hade gjort pannkakor till Bojan. Han blev så glad!! Det finns nog inget mer kroatiskt än pannkakor till efterrätt.

...and Jelena have made pancakes to Bojan. And he was sooo happy!! I think this is the most famous and popular desert here in Croatia.

Och när solen gått ner kom Mimmi på att hon var lite hungrig, så då gav vi oss av till en liten familjeägd restaurang precis i närheten; Buffet Zomzi. Och nej, det är ingen bufferestaurang... Och här åt vi världens godaste middag; bläckfisksallad, pasta frutti di mare, grillad fisk (ingen aning vilken sort) med kål och potatis och sedan delade vi på efterrätten. Så gott!!

And when the sun had gone done Mimmi was hungry, so we went to a local restaurant nearby. A family own restaurant called Buffet Zomzi, and no it is not a buffet kind of place. We had the best dinner!! Octopus sallad, pasta frutti di mare, grilled fish with a salad of cabbage and potato and then we shared the desert. Absolutly delicious!!!

Och idag skulle vi mysa med Jelena med dotter vid vår pool men värsta åskan kom för att stanna, så vi åt en god lunch tillsammans. Sedan åkte de hem och vi läste, sov och slappade i kvällsolen vid poolen, så skönt! Kändes som att det behövdes efter en intentiv vecka med massa gäster, både som bott hos oss, och som kommit över till lunch och middag. En toppenhelg med andra ord! Hur har er helg varit? Vi ses! And today we were going to spend the day with Jelena and her daughter here at our pool, but the weather suddenly changed and a thunderstorm came and stayed so we just had a nice lunch together, and then they went home. And we slept for a while, read for a while and just relaxed in the evening sun by the pool, really nice. Felt like I needed it after a week full of visits, both overnight guests, and guests for lunch and dinner every day. A really nice weekend!! How was your weekend? Ciao Catharina
