Hej på dig? Jag hoppas att allt är bra. Helg igen, härligt! Vi jobbar med stugorna idag så vi har fullt upp nu på förmiddagen men när de nya gästerna har kommit så kan vi ha en mysig lördagkväll. Imorgon blir det inte mycket gjort, förutom att läsa ut min bok “Herrarna satte oss dit”, mer om det i ett annat inlägg.

Har du gjort fotoböcker någon gång? Jag har alltid gjort fotoböcker och fotoalbum. Förr i tiden var jag duktig på att göra fotoalbum av alla analoga foton men sedan blev det full fart i livet med småbarn, fulltidsjobb och att vi började med att fota med mobilen eller med den digitala systemkameran. Så då blev det inga album på flera år, och massa foton på mobilen har gått förlorade för jag gjorde inga riktiga backup.

Men det är med alla digitala foton nästan ännu viktigare att göra något av dem, med dem. Annars kollar man ju inte på dem, eller hur?

Nu sist gjorde jag i bröllopspresent till en av mina döttrar ett fotoalbum. De fick den nu i julas, och ja, hon och hennes man gifte sig förra året i september så det blev lite lång väntetid. MEN jag ville ha ett extra fint album och letade runt bland alla sajter vad de hade att erbjuda. Jag började att göra ett med MILK men då de är ett företag i Australien, och trycker allt i Hong-Kong började jag bli tveksam när jag förra julen skulle beställa. Dels var albumet dyrt i sig, sedan tillkom dyr frakt och ovanpå det tullar och moms. Så då blev det hela bara tröttsamt. Nu tog jag tag i det i november igen.

Hello there? I hope everything is fine. Happy weekend again, lovely! We are working in the cottages today so we are very busy this morning but when the new guests have arrived we can relax and have a cozy Saturday afternoon, evening. Tomorrow we will not do much, apart from reading my book “The Gentlemen Put Us There”, more about that in another post.

Have you ever made photo books? I have always made photo books and photo albums. In the past I was good at making photo albums of all the analogue photos but then life got busy with small children, a full-time job and we started taking photos with our mobile phones or digital system cameras. So then there were no albums for several years, and a lot of photos on the mobile phones have been lost because I did not make any real backups.

But with all the digital photos it is almost even more important to do something with them, with them. Otherwise you wouldn’t look at them, right?

Recently I made a photo album as a wedding present for one of my daughters. They got it last Christmas, and yes, she and her husband got married last year in September so it was a bit of a long wait. BUT I wanted an extra nice album and looked around all the sites to see what they had to offer. I started making one with MILK but since they are a company in Australia, and print everything in Hong Kong, I started to have doubts when I was going to order last Christmas. First of all, the album itself was expensive, then there was expensive shipping and on top of that, customs and VAT. So then it all just became tiring. Now I got to work on it again in November.

Vi hade anlitat bröllopsfotografen Amanda på AMLO-STUDIO som jobbade för Jennifer på CAPTURE BY JK. Vi fick massa vackra foton så vi hade att välja bland.

Jag letade runt igen, och då hittade jag Crimson, ett företag i Stockholm, där jag för priset av ett album från MILK fick 7 album som brudparet kunde ge i julklapp till respektive familj. Med snabb leverans dessutom. Jag hade redan hade satt ihop ett album på MILK och fått feedback från bröllopsparet så det fick “snabbare” denna gången. Jag har inte sett albumet färdigt än för jag skickade det direkt till bröllopsparet, men ovan ser ni fram- och baksida.

We had hired the wedding photographer Amanda at AMLO-STUDIO who worked for Jennifer at CAPTURE BY JK. We got a lot of beautiful photos so we had a lot to choose from.

I searched around again, and then I found Crimson, a company in Stockholm, where for the price of one album MILK got 7 albums that the bride and groom could give as Christmas presents to their respective families. With fast delivery too. I had already put together an album at MILK and got feedback from the wedding couple so it was “faster” this time. I haven’t seen the finished album yet because I sent it directly to the wedding couple, but above you can see the front and back.

Jag valde ett Flat-Lay format, men läste inte den finstilta texten och då jag hade för många foton så blev det vanlig binding. Detta är en nackdel med att jag inte har hittat en favoritleverantör än, och resultatet blir lite av en svart låda. Men nu så, nu vet jag. Och nu har jag hittat Crimson, en fotostudio som jag kommer att göra fler fotoböcker och lära känna de olika albumtyperna, papper, bindningar etc etc. Ack så viktigt!

Att sätta ihop ett album tar tid!!! Mycket tid. Olika album har olika utmaningar. Här var det att göra ett urval där de flesta bröllopsgäster är med, där känslan är rätt när man bläddrar igenom det och att brudparet känner “att detta fångade vår fantastiska dag”. Jag har som sagt var, inte sett det än, men brudparet blev jätteglada!!

I chose a Flat-Lay format, but didn't read the fine print and since I had too many photos, it ended up being a regular binding. This is a disadvantage of not having found a favorite supplier yet, and the result is a bit of a black box. But now, now I know. And now I have found Crimson, a photo studio that I will make more photo books with and get to know the different album types, paper, bindings etc etc. Very important!

Putting together an album takes time!!! A lot of time. Different albums have different challenges. Here it was to make a selection where most of the wedding guests are included, where the feeling is right when you browse through it and that the bride and groom feel "that this captured our fantastic day". As I said, I haven't seen it yet, but the bride and groom were very happy!!

Även själva bröllopsfotografiet skulle väljas och det var inte det lättaste. Här “pratar” jag och dottern om vilket de ville ha. Detta är min favorit av alla foton. Så här ser det ut när det inte är screen-shottat.

The wedding photo itself also had to be chosen and it wasn't the easiest. Here my daughter and I are "talking" about which one they wanted. This is my favorite of all the photos. This is what it looks like when it's not screen-shotted.

Ett fantastiskt bröllop en fantastisk septemberhelg 2024. Nu tryckt i fint papper i fina ramar hemma hos familjemedlemmar.

Jag gjorde ännu ett fotoalbum förra året. En av våra närmaste vänner Keith från Sydafrika fyllde 70-år, och det firade vi på en ö i södra Kroatien, Korcula förra året i september. Kolla in här om ni vill känna lite varma salta vindar från medelhavet Vilken fantastisk Vecka och Korcula, Dalmatia . Jag använde här Blurb, som jag använt en gång tidigare för länge sedan, men här behövde jag betala moms och tull och den blev mer som en klassisk fotobok. Och inte värt priset jämfört med vad jag fick för att använda Crimson ovan.

Här ser ni inlägget från sommaren 2018 när vi på Korcula och där omslagsfotot togs. Vi är alltså inte i en simbassäng utan i det fantastiska havet i södra Kroatien.

I made another photo album last year. One of our closest friends Keith from South Africa turned 70, and we celebrated on an island in southern Croatia, Korcula last September. Check it out here if you want to feel some warm salty winds from the Mediterranean What a fantastisc Week och Korcula, Dalmatia. I used Blurb here, which I used once before a long time ago, but here I had to pay VAT and customs and it turned out more like a classic photo book. And not worth the price compared to what I got for using Crimson above.

Here you see the post from summer 2018 when we at Korcula and where the cover photo was taken. So we are not in a swimming pool but in the fantastic sea in southern Croatia.

Utmaning med detta albumet var att hitta foton från de dryga 20 år som vi känt varandra. Som jag skrev ovan så har massa foton försvunnit ut i cyberrymden då jag inte sparat ner dem ordentligt. Men jag fick flera stycken från hans fru, perfekt! Så nu när jag hade alla fotona så var nästa utmaning, hur skall jag sortera dem? Jag valde tillslut olika destinationer som vi träffats på och började med här hos oss i alperna.

The challenge with this album was to find photos from the 20 years we've known each other. As I wrote above, a lot of photos have disappeared into cyberspace because I didn't save them properly. But I got several from his wife, perfect! So now that I had all the photos, the next challenge was, how do I sort them? I finally chose different destinations that we've met at and started with here in the Alps.

Detta albumet blev vi riktigt nöjda med, kanske dock lite tjocka sidor men här var det Flat-Lay.

As you can see, different companies have different layouts for how their programs look like and how you should work in them. Adding pages, removing pages, overviews, etc.

We were really happy with this album, maybe a little thick pages, but here it was Flat-Lay.

Tidigare har det blivit dessa tre albumen. Med andra ord inte så särdeles många med tanke på alla foton man har, och i relation till alla fotoalbum jag har med analoga foton. Dessa är från Burano och Venedig med mina fina flickor sommaren 2016 (photobox), från segling i södra Kroatien 2011 (Blurb) samt en tackfotobok till alla som var på makens 50-årsfest i Kroatien 2013 (Vistaprint).

Previously, there have been these three albums. In other words, not that many considering all the photos you have, and in relation to all the photo albums I have with analog photos. These are from Burano and Venice with my beautiful girls in the summer of 2016 (photobox), from sailing in southern Croatia in 2011 (Blurb) and a thank you photo book for everyone who was at my husband's 50th birthday party in Croatia in 2013 (Vistaprint).

Minnen när de är som bäst! Nu tänker jag att ett av mina första projekt blir att göra fotoalbum från alla våra safaris och Sydafrikaresor som vi har varit på. Memories at their best! Now I think that one of my first projects will be to make a photo album from all our safaris and South African trips that we have been on.
