God fortsättning! | Happy Belated Christmas!
Hej, och god fortsättning! Vi har haft en vuxen-jul, mao bara vi två, maken och jag. Inga måsten och som vanligt blandar vi traditioner hej vilt - Kroatien + Sverige = mysigt!
Vi har sedan många år en tradition som vi kör varje julafton och det är att samla våra vänner för en tidig lunch på ett av våra favoritställen i våra backar - Lisa Alm. Men just denna julen är alla restauranger och stugor i backarna stängda (ja, i hela Österrike) så det blev inget med det i år. Skidbackarna öppnade på julafton men med ösregn. Så vi valde bort skidåkning och var hemma och myste istället.
Hello, and Happy Belated Christmas! We have had a quiet Christmas, just the two of us, my husband and I. No musts and as usual we mix traditions - Croatia + Sweden = cozy!
For many years we have a tradition every Christmas Eve and we gather our friends for an early lunch at one of our favorite places on our slopes - Lisa Alm. But just this Christmas, all restaurants in the slope (well, all over Austria) are closed so no celebration in the ski slopes this year. The ski slopes opened on Christmas Eve but with heavy rain. So we opted out of skiing and were at home and cuddled instead.
Fin bild på vårt hus och våra stugor precis vid skidbacken, från förra året när kabinbanan gick. De har bestämt att inte öppna upp kabinbanan än så vi får gå till nästa liftsystem. Lite morgonmotion. Imorgon tänkte vi köra en första runda för denna säsongen. Vi köpte säsongskort idag. Det får bli vår julklapp detta året.
Nice picture of our house and our cabins right on the ski slope, from last year when the cable car was running. They have decided not to open up the cable cars (due to Corona) so we have to go to the next lift system. A little morning exercise. Tomorrow we will go on the first run for this season. We bought season tickets today. It will be our Christmas present this year.
Vi har vanligtvis alltid en stor julgran utomhus, och en mindre (inte äkta) på vår övervåning. I år fick vi en superfin gran av en av våra grannar som har hotell, och då de inte kunde öppna pga coronabestämmelser, gav det en till oss. Den passade perfekt inomhus som efter lite övertalning gick maken med på att ha granen inomhus. Hurra!! Jag fick äntligen plocka fram ALLA julgransdekorationen. Dessa har jag samlat på mig genom årens lopp. Från Nieman Marcus i San Fransisco, Harrods i London och lite varstans. Nästa år tänker jag nog köpa på mig lite nytt från Svenskt Tenn. Maken tycker nu att vi skall ha en gran inne, varje jul. Hurra igen!
We usually have a large Christmas tree outdoor, and a smaller one (not genuine) upstairs in the house. This year we got a super nice tree from one of our neighbors who has a hotel, and since they could not open due to corona regulations, they gave one to us. It fitted perfectly indoor and after a bit of persuasion my husband agreed to have the Christmas tree indoors this year. Hurray!! I finally got to use ALL the Christmas tree decorations. I have collected these over the years. From Nieman Marcus in San Francisco, Harrods in London and everywhere. Next year I will probably buy myself something new from Svenskt Tenn. My husband now think we should have a spruce inside, every Christmas. Hooray again!
Få, om några måsten med julmaten. Det blev gravad lax, rödbetssallad, köttbullar samt lussebullar. Och just ja, mina fantastiskt goda knäckebröd. I år prövade vi på några recept som maken alltid åt när han var ung; Ischler (en sorts smörkakor) och fransk sallad (mao legymsallad a la 70-tal). Har även gjort en ny variant av Tiramisu. Smakar av den imorgon. Men mäkta stolt att jag numera kan laga mat och desserter efter tyska recept (utan google translate). På julafton är det tradition i Kroatien att äta fisk så vi åt bläckfisksallad samt en fantastisk god piggvar som maken stekte i ugn. Så gott!!
Nu blir det fortsättning på The Sopranos och tidigt i säng för tidig uppgång för premiär i skidbackarna imorgon bitti. Vi hörs! Ciao Catharina
Few, if any, must with the Christmas food. This year we had was gravad lax, beetroot salad, meatballs and saffron buns. And yes, my fantastic crispbread. This year we tried some recipes that my husband always had when he was young; Ischler (a kind of butter cakes) and French salad (i.e. vegetable salad a la 70’s). I have also made a new variant of Tiramisu. We will taste it tomorrow. But very proud that I made it from a German recipe (without google translate). Oh yes on Christmas Eve, it is a tradition in Croatia to eat fish, so we ate squid salad and a fantastic turbot that my husband baked in the oven. Fantastic!!
Now it‘s time for The Sopranos and early to bed for early rise for the premiere on the ski slopes tomorrow morning. See ya! Hello Catharina
