På väg till Rovinj för att fira min födelsedag. | On our way to Rovinj to celebrate my birthday.

Hej, näh det blev ingen resa till Kroatien och Rovinj, tyvärr! Vi skulle ha åkt igår men vi ställde in. Våra kompisar som vi skulle hälsa på har fått corona och vi ville inte bli sjuka. Fel tid på året. Så det blir inget av ett vintrigt Rovinj…

Hi, no we did go on our planned trip to Croatia and Rovinj, unfortunately! We were supposed to go yesterday but we canceled. Our friends we were supposed to visit have had corona and we didn't want to get sick. Wrong time of year. So there won't be any wintry Rovinj...

…och inte heller något advent- och juldekorerat och vackert Rovinj…

…or any Advent and Christmas decorated and beautiful Rovinj…

…eller mysiga middagar hemma hos våra kompisar eller som alltid fantastiskt goda middagar ute på restaurang. Riktigt tråkigt! Men “better-safe-than-sorry” och jag som skall åka hem på tisdag nästa vecka vill inte bli sjuk / eller smitta. Så nu har maken och jag planerat om helgen här hemma och det blir mysigt! Maken gör säsongspremiär i backen och jag kommer att gå ut på långa promenader, och lyssna på olika podcasts. Och ha en lugn helg hemma, igen! Den sista lugna helgen hemma på länge, inte förrän till mitten på mars nästa år. Högsäsong i alperna, familj och vänner på besök och jobb och allt annat som måste fixas.

Men vår tradition att åka till Rovinj, Kroatien över min födelsedag kommer att återupptas nästa år. Absolut! Vi hörs av! Ciao Catharina

…or cosy dinners at our friends’ houses or, as always, fantastically delicious dinners out at restaurants. Really boring! But “better-safe-than-sorry” and I, who will be going home on Tuesday next week, don’t want to get sick / or catch a corona / the flu. So now my husband and I have re-planned the weekend here at home and it will be cozy! My husband is making the season premiere on the slopes and I will go out for long walks, and listen to various podcasts. And have a quiet weekend home, again! The last quiet weekend at home for a long time, not until mid-March next year. High season in the Alps, family and friends visiting and work and all the rest.

But our tradition of going to Rovinj, Croatia for my birthday will resume next year. Absolutely! We’ll talk! Ciao Catharina

Prosecco, prosciutto & parmensan.

Godmorgon, nu är vi på väg till Kroatien. Bara för två dagar och för att maken bet sönder en av sina tänder i förra veckan. Den blev tillfälligt lagad men nu behöver den lagas ordentligt så då åker vi till världens bästa tandläkare Jelena, tillika en av våra bästa kompisar.

Good morning, now we are on our way to Croatia. Only for two days and because my husband broke one of his teeth last week. It was temporarily fixed but now it needs to be fixed permanently so then we go to the world's best dentist Jelena, also one of our best friends.

Inköpslistan är klar, och som rubriken antyder så blir det ett fåtal saker som vi verkligen vill ha hemma inför vintern. Alltid lika härligt att samla i ladorna, och då med kvalitetsprodukter som just prosecco (vi funderar på vilken vingård vi skall åka till), prosciutto (beställt och klar för upphämtning hos en bonde) samt parmesan (inköps på piazzan och kanske blir det lite fisk och skaldjur också).

Och ja, jag lovar. Inga mer inlägg om min planering och inköpslistor 😂😂

The shopping list is ready, and as the title suggests, there will be a few things that we want to have a home in the winter. Always nice to collect in the barns, and then with quality products such as prosecco (we are thinking which vineyard we should go to), prosciutto (ordered and ready for collection from a farmer) and parmesan (purchased in the piazza and maybe there will be some fish and seafood too).

And yes, I promise. No more posts about my planning and shopping lists 😂😂

Vi kommer att bo i Rovinj igen. Våra kompisar är inte hemma men vi lånar en av deras lägenheter, lyxigt! Och ikväll tänkte vi äta fisk och promenera runt i ett Rovinj-by-night utan massa turister. Och imorgon innan vi åker hem åker vi till en av våra favoritrestauranger som ligger en bit in i Istrien där de grillar köttet direkt på öppen eld.

We will stay in Rovinj again. Our friends are not at home but we will borrow one of their apartments, luxurious! And tonight we thought we'd eat fish and walk around a Rovinj-by-night without lots of tourists. And tomorrow before we go home, we will go to one of our favorite restaurants where they grill the meat directly on an open fire.

Vi har kommit på att det blir extra mysigt att äta en sen lunch i Kroatien, och därefter åka hem. Sista smaken av Kroatien innan vi åker. Då behöver vi inte tänka på mat mm när vi sedan kommer hem. Mysigt att komma hit, vilket jag ju inte trodde pga våra reparationer hemma, då vi avbokad vår resa helgen som precis gick. Det är ju numera en tradition att åka hit på min födelsedag. Så härligt att få andas lite medelhavsluft, trots att det är för att makens onda tand. Då känner åtminstone jag mig redo för en lång och härlig vinter, förhoppningsvis med MASSA snö och sol och blå himmel. Ha det så fint! Ciao Catharina

We have realized that it’s nict to have a late lunch before we go home. Last taste of Croatia before we leave. Then we don't have to think about food etc. when we get home. It's nice to come here again, which I didn't think because of our repairs at home, so our planned trip last trip was canceled. I very nice tradition to come here for my birhtday. So lovely to be able to breathe some Mediterranean air, even though it's because of my husband's bad tooth. Then I feel ready for a long and lovely winter, hopefully with LOTS of snow and sun and blue skies. Have a great time! Ciao Catharina

Ps. Jag gjorde hemmagjord morotsgranola häromdagen så två burkar fick följa med som present till våra vänner.

NB. I did some home made granola the other day, so this will be two small presents to our friends.
