Ett glasering party. | A Glacing Party.

Hej, blev så glad mitt i allt ryggelände att jag kunde gå ett par gånger på min keramik; Kisel Keramik. Märkte att jag inte var riktigt på topp så det blev lite slarv samt att jag inte kunde dreja (böjd rygg) men tyckte ändå att mina två örtkrukor och serveringsfat blev fina.

Hello, got really happy when I realized that I could attend my pottery class; Kisel Keramik, in February when my back was getting a bit better. However, was not my normal self and things were not done with 100% perfection but I still like what I finally got. Decided not to throw the wheel, because of my back.

Onsdagsgruppen som jag gå i har hållit på i många många år och för några år sedan började vi ha ett knytkalas när vi glaserade sista gången. Vi börjar en timma tidigare så vi hinner med att prata och mysa tillsammans utan att det blir försent. Jag tog med mig lite goda bakelser från Thelins konditori.

The Wednesdays Pottery Class have been attended by the same people for years, and so nice people. A couple of years back we decided to have a glaring- and farewell party, on our last day each term. Then we start one hour earlier so we will have time to both glace, eat and laugh. I brought with me some delicious cakes.

Som jag har visat innan så ser den svarta leran ut så här. Här har jag precis putsat till dem efter att de har blivit skröjbrända, mao första bränningen.

As I have previously showed you the black clay that I have been working with is not looking black. Here my things have gone through the first burning.

Använder, precis som tidigare, en svart blank glasyr, till mina alster. Och japp, den ser ju inte heller svart ut. Här måste man vara noga att röra om så att glasyren får rätt densitet, för att den skall bli så jämn som möjlig när den kommer på.

Using, as before, the black glace to them all. And yes, you are right, it doesn’t look black either. Here you must whisk it to get the proper density, to get the glace as even as possible on your things.

Doppat och klart. Man behöver fixa lite till med sina alster såsom att ta bort glasyr på undersidan, annars bränns de fast i ugnen. Så synnerligen viktigt!

Here it is dipped and ready. But still needs to be fixed, like scrapping of all the glace in the bottom, otherwise it will get stuck in the kiln.

And tadaaa! Here are my art produced this spring. Not too bad, right? Will fit rather good in the kitchen in Flachau.

Vi får se om jag kan vara med i höst eller om jag kanske får ändan ur vagnen och hittar en keramikstudio nere i Flachau eller i någon grannby. Vi får se! Ciao Catharina

Not sure if I can attend the class in the autumn or not. It is written down in my agenda anyway. A good reason to come and stay for a couple of weeks in Stockholm. Or I will try to find a studio in Flachau or in the nearby village. Let’s see! Ciao Catharina
