Hej, nu är vi på väg på nästa resa. Och vi älskar faktiskt att bila tillsammans. Denna gången blir resa lite längre, knappt 90 mil. Vi skall ju åka till en ö i södra Kroatien; Korcula. På nervägen idag tar vi en liten paus på vägen och hälsar på kompisar i Mostar. Men på hemvägen kör vi direkt.

Hello, now we are on our next travel. And we love to drive in the car together. This time the travel will be a bit longer then usual, almost 900 km. We are going to an island in the south of Croatia; Korcula. On the way down we will make a visit by friends in Mostar. On our way home we will drive straight home.

När vi bilar tillsammans gäller följande, alltid: | When we are going in the car we are doing the following, always:

- Maken kör alltid | My husband is always driving

- Jag blir jättelätt åksjuk så kan inte göra annat än att titta på vägen | I get car sick really really easy so can't do anything in the car then look at the road

- Vi lyssnar på Bob Dylan, om och om igen | We listen to Bob Dylan, over and over again

- Vi pratar en massa, hela tiden | We are talking a lot, a the time

- Jag tar av mig skorna och sitter i bara strumplästen | I don't have any shoes on

- Jag har alltid med kudde och filt | I always have a pillow and a blanket with me

- Vi tar alltid med oss vatten från Flachau i flera flaskor | We bring water with from home

- Jag har alltid min kaffemugg med mig fylld till bredden med kaffe (om vi åker innan 12.00) | I always have my coffee with me in my coffee mug filled to the brim (if we leave before 12.00)

- Vi tar alltid med oss matsäck; smörgåsar, kefir, overnight oats mm mm | We take food with us; sandwiches, kefir, overnight oats etc etc

- Vi äter inget godis och köper sällan läsk | We don't eat any sweets and we seldom by cola etc

- Vi stannar bara för att tanka och/eller kissa | We just stop for filling up petrol and/or pee

- Vi brukar bråka ca 1 gång per tur | We do fight once per trip

- Vi borde köpa karta men förlitar oss på GPS:en som ibland ger upphov till att vi inte är överens, eller alldeles fantastiskt överens. | We should by a map but we don't. And we trust the GPS which be a thing to fight over

The Little Church Tea Garden, South Africa, September 2017

Hej, när vi åkte till Johannesburg i torsdags, efter en vecka på safari, visade vår vän Keith oss ett litet mysigt ställe på vägen, där vi också åt frukost; The Little Church Tea Garden, i den lilla staden Van Reenen.

Hello, on our way to Johannesburg last Thursday, after a week at the Lodge, our friend Keith showed us a really cosy place, where we also had breakfast; The Little Church Tea Garden, in the little town Van Reenen.

Kändes som att vi hade kommit till engelska landsbygden och vi serverades av världens gulligaste äldre gentleman med brittisk accent.

Felt like we were at the English country side, and we where served by the a gentlman with a British accent.

Vi satte oss i trädgården...

...beställde en riktig engelsk frukost. Jag provade på Boere kaffe. Typ kaffe i tepåse, men serverad i en fin kanna.

...and we ordered a proper English Breakfast. I also tried Boere coffee. Coffee in teabags, but very nicely served.

Sedan åkte vi till den största kyrkan i delstaten Free State; NG Kerk Warden, och en av Sydafrikas största kyrkor. En riktig kyrkotur, hehe Keith är duktig på att hitta små smultronställen. Mysigt stopp på väg till Johannesburg. Vi ses imorgon! Catharina

Then we took a detour to the largest church in the Free State; NG Kerk Warden, and one of South Africas largest church. Did not except to get a church tour, hehe Keith is really good at finding really nice places. And this was a nice stop on our way to Johannesburg. See you tomorrow! Ciao Catharina

Sydafrika. | South Africa.

The Oyster Box, Durban, South Africa August 2014

Hej, nu är vi på plats i Durban i Sydafrika. Resan tog närmare 24 timmar, från dörr till dörr, och allt har gått bra. Vi är nu på plats hos våra vänner Jaco och Andrea. Ikväll skall vi ut och äta och sedan blir det full fart med både gamla och nya vänner. Skall bli både mysigt och kul! Vi är i Durban till på söndag morgon då vi åker till Mozambique, närmare bestämt till Ponta do Oura. Men innan dess får ni fler reseuppdateringar härifrån Durban.

Vi kommer att göra flera stopp när vi är här, kolla vår resrutt här, och vi har också kollat in 100 Best Things To Do in South Africa skriven av Jenn Miller. Är ni sugna på att resa till Sydafrika, gå gärna in och kika på alla hennes jätttebra tips. Vi kommer att göra / har gjort ca 25 av dem.

Hello, now we have reached our destination! We are in Durban, South Africa at our friends Jaco and Andrea house. It took nearly 24 hours, door to door, but we are finally here. Tonight we will go out for dinner, the four of us, and then we will see a lot of friends, both old and new, the rest of the trip. Really looking forward to it!! We will be here in Durban until Sunday morning then we will be heading to Mozambique and Ponta do Oura, for a couple of days. But before that you will get some more updates from Durban.

We will make a couple of stops here in South Africa, have a look here on our route. I have checked out 100 Best Things To Do in South Africa written by Jenn Miller, a lot of really good tips. So if planning to come here, check-out her tips, really really good. We will do / have done around 25 of them.

Boston.

Hej! Vaknade upp i Boston. Nu skall jag o Gaby (min yngsta) strax bila upp till Burlington, Vermont där ju Mimmi (min äldsta dotter) pluggar på UVM i ett år (läs mer här o här). Det är ca 40 mil dit så vi räknar med att vara uppe strax efter lunch. Amerikanskt kaffe i mugghållaren och I'm a Pilgrim som ljudbok.

Vi flög igår, lite lyxigt i business class. Och vi fick under flyget också reda på att Gaby just har fått en lägenhet i Stockholm. Vi följde budgivningen på sms o var lite nervösa. Funkislägenhet vid Tessinparken!! Jippi!!! Känns som att vi är i fastighetsbranschen med all köp och sälj. Och nu får jag en lägenhet att fixa iordning. Jättekul!!

Hello again! Woke up this morning here in Boston. Gaby (my youngest daughter) and I are soon of to Burlington, Vermont where Mimmi (my oldest) are studying at UVM for a year (read about it here and here). We have about 400 km to drive. So in the cup holder we have coffee and bluetooth is set up for our audio book I'm a Pilgrim.

We flew out yesterday, with business class. Felt like a real treat!! And during our flight we also got the really good news that Gaby have finally got her own apartment in Stockholm city center!!! Feels like we are in the real estate business with all the selling and buying. So we are very happy! And I have a new project with decorating the apartment!! So exciting for both of us!!

Kom i rätt Maine-stämning på flyget när jag tittade på Stephen Kings nya serie 11.22.63. Riktigt bra! Är generellt sett inte så förtjust i varken 60-tals musik eller film så lite överraskande för mig.

Got into the Maine kind of mood yesterday at the flight watching the new series by Stephen King 11.22.63. Really good start!! Not really into 60's music or film so this are a bit surprising for me.

Vi flög via NY till Boston, hämtade hyrbil, körde fel så vi hamnade i Boston (fast vi hade hyrt hotell vid flygplatsen) och hamnade i världens bilköer och började då känna att energin höll på att ta slut. Men till slut kom vi fram till hotellet, halv två (svenskt tid).

Och imorgon startar vår roadtrip i Vermont, New Hampshire & Maine. Häng med vetja!!! Vi ses senare i veckan, Catharina

We flew via NY to Boston, picked-up the rental car, took the wrong way so we ended up in downtown Boston, got stuck in traffic but finally arrived to the hotel around 1.30 pm.
