Sakta jag går genom stan. | Walking slowly through the city.

Hej, nu är jag hemma i Stockholm, mysigt! Flög från Salzburg, via Frankfurt mitt på dagen. Landade vid tre och tog Arlanda Express in och sedan vandrade jag långsamt genom stan i det vackra vädret. Har saknat Stockholm! Mysigt att göra små stopp i lite affärer; Iris Hantverk, H&M (där jag hittade lite snygga saker, bilder kommer imorgon) och Svenskt Tenn samt handlade lite mat. Så mysigt att bara gå långsamt genom stan och njuta, ensam! 

Hello, back in Stockholm, nice! Flew from Salzburg, via Frankfurt and landed at three. Took Arlanda Express into the city and then I slowly walked through the city and it was nice and warm. A perfect welcome from Stockholm and I have missed the city! And nice to make small stops here and there; Iris Hantverk, H&M (where I found a couple of nice things, will show you tomorrow) and Svensk Tenn. So nice to slowly walk through the city and just enjoy, on my own!

Bor några dagar hos Gaby, sedan hos Mimmi och sedan "hem" till Täby. Skall fortsätta med att hjälpa / inreda det sista i Gabys lägenhet och sedan Mimmis lägenhet, som ju är ny, men där allt var fint så bara inredning. Mysigt att bo lite i deras lägenheter. De är i Los Angeles med sin pappa och firar sin farbror. 

Will stay a couple of days with Gaby's, and then at Mimmi's apartment while they are in LA with their father, celebrating their uncles birthday. Nice to get the feeling in their new apartments and then I will help them with the styling of the apartments; Gaby's final stage and Mimmi's new, but needs less work, only decoration. 

Ikväll hade jag inget bokat, utan vet med mig att jag behöver "landa" lite när jag kommer hem. För mig betyder det lite onyttig mat, vila lite och titta på Netflix. Kan inte riktigt släppa Gypsy som jag såg för två veckor sedan så den får var på liksom i bakgrunden. En eftermiddag/kväll räcker, sedan är jag redo för äventyr. Full fart i 10 dagar så häng med på min Stockholms- & västkustvistelse.

Förra året då? Jo, då var det full fart. Lite lustigt att jag är i Stockholm exakt samma datum. Dels var det stort party för min fd svägerska Wivvi, jag opererade bort en fetknöl på min arm, hade Hejdå-party för Mimmi som skulle åka till Burlington, Vermont och plugga på University of Vermont ett år och på torsdagen flög vi båda till Boston, för att sedan bila upp till Burlington. Helmysigt!!

Tonight I have nothing booked since I know that I need to "land" when coming home. For me that means some not so healthy food, resting and watching Netflix. And can't stop thinking about Gypsy, so watching it again a little bit in the background. And one afternoon/evening is enough then I'm ready for adventure. And the next 10 days are booked, but not crazy booked, as I used to do, but both Stockholm & the west coast is on the plan so here we go.

And last year? Well then it was busy times. And funny, exactly the same dates in Stockholm as this year. And then it was a big party for my ex-sister-in-law Wivvi,  I had an operation, a small one, farewell party for Mimmi that was going to Burlington, Vermont to study at University of Vermont for year, and on Thursday we flew together to Boston and then we rented a car and went up to Burlington. Soo nice!

Hej, idag har det varit en riktigt fixardag. Har ägnat mig åt att rensa i mina blomlådor, och oj, hade visst inte gjort det på ett tag. Och så här såg det ju ut när vi precis hade planerat dem i maj. Fint, men har lite kvar till målbilden. 

Hello, today is a day full of fixing things. Have taken time to clean up in my flower pots, and oh dear haven't done that for a couple of weeks. And here you can see how it looked when we planted them back in May. Nice, but need to practice a bit more to get the perfect Austrian Flower Pot. 

Har hållit på i fyra timmar och hmmm mer grönt än rosarött just nu, men inte en dag för tidigt. 

It took four hours, and more green than red pink at the moment, but not a day too early. 

Ja, ni ser. I vanlig fall brukar jag ha typ två nävar fulla med blommor. Idag blev det hela korgen full... 

And you can see, a lot. Normally I have two handful of whistled flower, but not today...

Meditativt och fint väder så en perfekt söndagssyssla.

Har också bakat bröd, och skall i kväll ställa mig att styka lite. Ja, strykhögen som jag nämnde i ett tidigare inlägg blev faktiskt färdig den kvällen men nu är det en ny som väntar otåligt på mig, hehe..

Vi skall också iväg på lite gatutennis (vad det nu är) hos Mona & Alex, samt grilla lite cevapici, och har bakat det klassiska brödet Lepinja som man har till. Mums! På återhörande, Catharina

Have also made some bread, and tonight I will do some ironing. Well, yes the pile that I mentioned in an earlier posting was done, but now a new pile is eagerly waiting for me, hehe...

However, before that we will skip over to our neighbours Mona & Alex for some street tennis (not sure on what it is) and some grilling. Have done homemade Lepinja, the bread that you normally have to the cevapcici, that will be on the grill tonight. See you tomorrow, right? Ciao Catharina

Hej, idag har jag varit trött, hehe bra fråga varför? Men tror vädret påverkar. Vi har varit och fixat i Radstadt idag, de har lite olika uppdelning mellan byarna vad man kan göra så här ligger tex Notarius Publicus (när du behöver ordna officiella papper), och här ligger också vår träningsstudio, och det blev en timmas styrketräning, och idag hade de marknad på torget så vi köpte en pumpa och lite mangold, mums! Ikväll har vi en mysig hemmmakväll, inget planerat, så tänkte stryka. Och jipiii kommer att ha strukit igenom hela högen som låg i min mammas gamla mangelkorg, och den var inte liten, har legat och väntat på mig i mer än ett år. Imorgon blir det städning av stugorna och det ser ut att bli fint väder så en cykeltur på eftermiddagen, är inplanerad. Happy Friday!! Catharina

Hello, today I've been really tired, hehe good question why? But think the weather is affecting me. We have been to the nearby village Radstadt to arrange a couple of things; fitness, notarius publicus and the local market. Bought a pumpkin and some chard, yummy! This evening we have nothing planned so just a relaxed evening at home. I'm planning to finish ironing the heap that have been waiting for me for over a year (crazy right?). Have been doing an hour a day this week, and now my mothers mangle basked it almost empty, hurray!! Tomorrow we have new guests coming so cleaning the Chalets is on the agenda, and the weather looks nice to a tour with our mtb is on the agenda. Happy Friday!! Ciao Catharina

Chalet am Jet.

Hej, nu har vi fixat i dagarna tre med att iordningställa våra stugor för sommarsäsongen. Vi har döpt våra stugor till Chalet am Jet = Stugorna vid Achter Jet pisten. Vi har också döpt stugorna efter våra papport; Nikola och Gunnar. Vi har två stycken som är identiska; 85 kvm på två våningar för totalt 8 personer i varje. 

Hello, now we have been fixing for three days in order to put the Chalets ready for the summer season. We have named them Chalets am Jet = Chalet by Achter Jet ski slope. The two Chalets also have been named after our fathers; Nikola and Gunnar. They are identical; 85 sqm on two floors and for 8 people in each. 

Det är ju lite olika aktiviteter för de som hyr stugorna på vintern respektive sommaren. Så nu har vi ordnat med grillar och parasoller, kompletterat med porsling (alltid går något sönder) samt satt upp lite mer personliga prydnadssaker såsom bonader från mina föräldrar mm

It is a bit different to rent our the Chalets in winter and in summer. And this year is the first where we rent them out properly in the summer; so we have arranged outdoor grill and parasol, bought some more plates and glasses (always something that breaks every season) and also decorated a bit more with my parents old but nice things. 

Vi har en rustikal stil med lite moderna inslag. Fint tycker vi och passar bra här nere. Så här hoppas att vi att våra gäster kommer att sitta och njuta av utsiken över Flachau...

We have a rustic style with modern touch. Which we thing is nice and well suited down here. So I hope our guests will enjoy it here and look at the view over Flachau...

Lill-midsommar. | Little Midsummer Eve.

Godkväll, så här såg det nu ikväll när vi firade lill-midsommar med våra vänner och grannar Mona & Alex. Skrev ju lite om det igår. Och en av anledningarna till att fira, förutom att träffas och ha kul ihop och ha lite svenska traditioner är ju att vi måste använda den fina midsommarstången som jag köpte på NK förra året. Mona hade plockat en riktigt fin bukett med midsommarblomster. 

Good Evening, this is how it looked tonight when we celebrated our little Midsummer Eve here in Austria with our friends and neighbors Mona & Alex. I wrote about it yesterday. And Midsummer in Sweden is always celebrated on the Eve, just like Christmas here. The date vary a bit, but is around the 21st of June. One of the reasons to celebrate, except of course to see and have fun with our friends and to keep some Swedish traditions, is alsoto bring out the nice midsummer pole that I bought last year, 

Så med sill (från IKEA), färskpotatis (som vi faktiskt hittade här i Flachau), gräslök, creme fraiche och knäckebröd blev det en riktigt midsommarmiddag, mysig och gott. 

So with herring (from IKEA), new potato (that we actually found here in Flachau), chive, creme fraiche and hard rye bread it was a true Midsummer dinner. And we all liked it, a lot!

Och naturligtvis behövde vi en jordgubbstårta, så det bakade jag idag. En riktigt hemmagjord jordgubbstårta enligt Leila's recept. Blev helt perfekt!! Till och med hemmagjord vaniljsås. Kan varmt rekommenderas!! Mums!! En riktigt mysig lill-midsommar!! 

Och förra året då? Var i Stockholm och blev avfirad ordentlgit bl.a. på kontoret med ett gäng av mina arbetskompisar och fick den fina vasen Dagg från Svenskt Tenn. Och sedan med nästa gäng ute på Fjäderholmarna där jag fick en vacker ljuslykta från Skultuna, en dikt om mig hehe samt en fint fotokollage med mig och alla kollegor. Just ja, fick också en jättevacker kristallvas från Tiffany & Co av en mina amerikanska chefer, plus lite annat fint från andra kollegor runt om i Europa. Kul att bli avfirad och fina minnen! Sedan jobbade jag fram till torsdagen då jag stängde ner jobbdatorn för gott (följde de svenska helgdagarna).

And of course a strawberry cake is a given for a midsummer dinner party, so I made one today! The recipe is from a Swedish chef Leila who always have had really really good recipe that you can't fail with. Unfortunately, she don't have the strawberry cake in English, but you can use the Swedish link above and translate in google if you want.  So a perfect Little Midsummer Eve!! 

And last year? Spend my last work week in Stockholm and got two really nice farewell celebration. One in the office with one gang and got the nice vase Dagg från Svenskt Tenn. And then with the next gang a really nice dinner at Fjäderholmarnas Krog where I got this nice candle holder from Skultuna, a poem about me hehe and a really nice photo collage with me and my dear colleagues. And yes, also got a beautiful crystal vase from Tiffany & Co from one of my american managers, and some more presents as well from colleagues around Europe. It warmed my heart and really really nice memories!! Then I worked my last day on Thursday and at 17.00 I closed down my work computer for good.
