Fredagsmys. | Friday & Cosy.

Godkväll, idag fick kossorna komma ut från en lång vinter i ladugården. De börjar nere hos oss några veckor, och vandrar sedan upp och stannar uppe i bergen fram tills hösten då de långsamt vandrar ner igen. För mig är det försommar när de kommer till oss, och de är ju våra närmaste grannar. 

Good Evening, today it was the day for the cows to come out from the barn. They start by our house, stay here for a couple of weeks and then they wander up the hills and stay there until autumn, and then they slowly walk down again. For me this is summer, and they are in fact our closest neighbors!! 

Gick ut och hälsade på dem och jag riktigt hörde hur de njöt av det gröna friska gräset, och då det är fredag idag och eftermiddags kom jag att tänka på fredagsmys. Blev också påmind av att Gaby, min dotter, skulle iväg och köpa lite fredagsmys... 

Went out to say hello and I heard how much they enjoyed the green lush grass, and since it was Friday and afternoon I came to think about the Swedish tradition "Fredagsmys". This is a tradition mainly when you have kids, on Friday evenings, with family and sometimes with friends and you buy crisps, cheese doodles, eat a Swedish version of tacos and the parents drink wine and you watch Let's dance or something together. The parents usually fall asleep after a glass or two. When my kids where young we always rented a VHS or later DVD in a store to watch. 

Idag har vi haft det jättemysigt och varit runt på flera ställen och promenerat, flera fina bilder. Ni får se dem imorgon. Och då blir det också premiärtur på min mountain bike. Jippiee! Vi ses, Catharina

Broder & syster. | Brother & sister.

Hej, har märkt att det bara blir kvällsinlägg nu men ordningen skall nog vara återställd till helgen. Vi har besök av Bojans syster Marina och hennes son Tim i helgen. De bor i Ulm i Tyskland och kom med tåget idag. Vi har inte haft så mycket kontakt med henne och hennes familj de senaste åren, men i samband med att deras pappa blev sjuk och sedemera avled återknöt de/vi kontakten, och det är riktigt mysig! Ibland får man låta vänskapen ta en paus, även fast det är familj. Man kan inte tvinga sig på varandra och om man gör varandra illa, är det bäst att ta en paus. Att se glädjen hos min man och hans storasyster när de nu har att hittat tillbaka till varandra är fantastisk!!

Hello, have noticed that I only make posting late at night now but will go back to my normal schedule after the holiday. We have Bojans sister; Marina and her son Tim here this week-end. They live in Ulm, Germany and came with the train today. We haven't had that much contact with her and her family the last years, for various reasons, but when their father was ill and died, they found the way back to each other. And sometimes you have to let friendship rest / take a break, even if it is family. You can't force yourself together if it means that you hurt the other person, then it is better to take a break. To see the happiness and closeness between my husband and his big sister now is fantastic! 

Fördelen, för mig, med att ha gäster är att man fixar det där sista som kanske inte alltid blir gjort. Så idag har jag farit runt i huset och sommarpysslat. Min drejade skål från Tortus workshop blev en fin plats för våra fjärrkontroller. 

The good thing, for me, to have guests is that I fix things that normally just is on my to-do-list. So today I have been fixing and changed things to get it ready for the summer. My pot from the Tortus workshop is perfect for various remote controls. 

Investerade i nya filtar till våra soffor på Slettvoll, när jag var hemma i Stockholm. Det blev tre stycken fina från Elvang, Danmark. Så nöjd! 

Invested in new blankets to our sofas from Slettvoll, when in Stockholm. I got three really nice from Elvang, Denmark. So happy!! 

Vårt hus är arkitektriktat och överallt ser man igenom huset och naturen är närvarande överallt. Här ser ni vår hall & entre, där jag har dekorerat med hjärtan som jag gjort av porslinslera i tre mobiler. 

Our house is architect-designed and everywhere you can see the nature through the house through windows. Here you see our hallway and entree, where I have decorated the windows with hearts in mobile, which I have made from China clay.

Köpte lite kryddväxter och tänkte få dem att överleva i sommar. Hittade krukor i garaget, som är från mitt hus på Edviksvägen i Danderyd, som jag sålde 2006. Ibland är det bra att spara saker. 

Bought some herbs the other day and will try to grow them this summer. Found the pots in the garage, and realised that these is from my house at Edviksvägen in Danderyd, which I sold in 2006. Sometimes is good to save things. 

Vi har tre magnoliaträd på tomten som jag INTE får röra, men kunde inte låta bli att klippa en kvist idag till min fina daggvas från Svenskt Tenn.

Här skall det bli toppenväder hela helgen så vi planerar lite vandring, grillning, premiärtur på min mountainbike och kanske lite fiske och allmänt mys. Ha en bra helg! Catharina

We have three magnolia trees in our garden which my husband have told me NOT to touch, but today I couldn't resist taking one small branch for my lovely vase. 

The week-end will give us superduper weather so we are planning some walks, grilling, premier on the mountainbikes and maybe some fishing and some relaxing. Have a really good long week-end! Ciao Catharina

Våra balkonglådor. | Our flower pots.

Hej, idag har det varit arbete i trädgården. Vi åkte till en trädgårdsmarknad strax utanför Salzburg och köpte en 60 pelargonier. Hade ju tänkt mig vita och ljusrosa...

Hello, today we have been working in the garden. We went to a market garden close to Salzburg and bought 60 geraniums, and some greens. Had planned to buy white and light pink...

...men det blev två olika rosa istället. Lite mer färg! De vita som ni ser skymta kommer att stå vid vår entre. Vi valde hängpelargonier, vilket jag tror blir fint på våra balkonger, och på våra stugor. 

...but I went with two different pinks instead. A bit more colour. The white geranimus that you can see in the background is for a flower pot that we stand in front of the house. We choose hang geraniums, which I think will look really nice on our balconies, as well as in our Chalets. 

Vi fick hjälp av våra vänner Claudia och Herbert, riktiga trädgårdsexperter.

We got help from our friends Claudia and Herbert, real garden experts. 

Vilket gjorde att arbetet med att plantera de 15 balkonglådorna gick smidigt. 

And this really made the work easy with the 15 flower pots. 

Här ser ni ovan balkongen som vi har i vårt sovrum. Det ser lite klent ut ljust nu men de skall växa till sig och de behöver lite plats. Bakom huset skymtar ni skidbacken, numera kohagen, och snart kommer kossorna. 

Here you see the balcony that we have in our bedroom, the flowers do not look that impressive now but they need some space to grow. Behind the house you see the ski slope, or the pasture for the cows. 

Och här är min myshörna med våra nyplanterade pelargonier. Vi har morgonsol så här är det mysigt att sitta på morgonen, samt att fånga solen på kvällskvisten med en eftermiddagsdrink. Just nu har vi en grill / eld där men den skall vi flytta på och så får jag sätta dit mina trädgårdsmöbler. 

And here is my favorite places with the newly planted flowers. We have morning sun so here it is so nice to sit and drink coffee in the mornings, and to get the last sun in the evening with an afternoon drink. Right now we have a grill /outdoor fire here but we will move it this week-end and then I will put my garden chairs there. 

Vi hoppas att om en månad eller så, att våra pelargonier skall se ut så här! Och vi får hoppas att det inte blir något hagel, som inte är helt ovanligt här nere, som förstör våra fina blommor. Ni får se hur de växer under sommaren. Nu har jag pyssel varje dag, mysigt! Och vem vet, jag kanske tar med mig några Mårbacka pelagonier till nästa år så blir det lite mer svenskt här nere. Vi ses! We hope to get this result in a month or two! And we also hope that there are no hail storms, which is not that uncommon down here, that could destroy our flowers. I will show you how they grow over the summer. Now I have work to do every day, nice! And maybe I will bring with me some Mårbacka geraniums for next year, a piece of Sweden in Austria. See you! Hemma igen. | Back home.

Godkväll, nu är jag hemma i Flachau igen. Mörkret sänker sig, det åskar och luktar gödsel från åkrar och ängar. Precis som jag vill ha det! 

Good Evening, now I'm back home. It's soon dark here and we have a thunderstorm above us and the smell from dung is all over the place. Just the way I like it!! 

Flög till München och tog tåget därifrån till Bischofshofen, en liten stad i närheten. Där blev jag hämtad av maken. Smidig resa och den gick fort med tidningar från Readly (en tjänst som SAS bjuder på i samband med flygning och perfekt när man kommer ihåg att ladda ner en bunt tidningar), poddar och nedladdade avsnitt på Netflix som tidsfördriv. Trippen tar 2 + 3 timmar med flyg och tåg, och lite väntetider i båda ändarna. Jag bestämde för länge sedan att jag inte skall vara tidsoptimist när jag är ute och reser, så ger mig god tid. Lugnare och faktiskt med njutbart. 

Flew to Munich and then I took the train to Bischofshofen, a village close to us. There my husband picked me up. Really a no-brainer trip. And with magazines from Readly ( a service that SAS offers when you fly with them and perfect when you remember to download beforehand), pods in my ears and a couple of downloaded episodes of series on Netflix, the time passed by quick. In total it takes 2 + 3 hours with some time waiting before and after. I decided many years ago that I shall not be a time optimist while travelling, so I always have time on my side. Much less stressful and actually also enjoyable. 

Och hemma på köksbordet stod ett fång vackra blommor och detta kortet. Lite gulligt eller hur? 

And at home on the kitchen table a beautiful bouquet waited for me together with this card. Sweet, right? 

Åska är vanligt här i alperna, speciellt på kvällar under vår, sommar och höst. Kall luft från bergstopparna möter varm luft från dalarna. Luften blir så frisk och gräset grönt. Snart kommer våra grannar ut också, alltså kossorna. Allt är lite försenat pga kall vår men nu hoppas vi att värmen snart skall komma. Imorgon skall vi åka till Salzburg för att köpa balkongblommor. Hoppas jag hittar de färger på pelagonier som jag vill ha. Vi ses imorgon kväll igen, eller hur? Inte helt otipat blir det då bilder på blommor och balkonlådor. Catharina

Thunderstorms are common in the Alps, especially in the evening during spring, summer and autumn. Cold air from the mountains meets warm air from the valleys. But afterwards the air is so fresh and the grass is green. Soon our neighbours will come, i.e. the cows. Everything is delayed due to the cold spring, but hopefully the warm weather arrive soon. Tomorrow we will go to Salzburg to buy flower for our flower pots for our balconies. I hope they have the colours on the geraniums that I want. See you tomorrow evening again, right? Hej, imorgon åker jag hem. Mysiga två veckor men nu längar jag efter maken. Som jag skrev i ett tidigare inlägg så är urvalet på Netflix väldigt olika beroende på vilket land man är i, och har passat på att se lite av mer av "mina" pågående favoriter samt att hittat ett par nya. Här är mitt urval just nu...

Hello, tomorrow I will go back home. Really nice two week but now I miss my husband. And as I wrote earlier the selection on Netflix is very different between countries and Sweden have a more descent selection than Austria, so I have watched some of my favorites during my time here, and I also found some new ones. So here we go...

You Me Her - en romantisk kärlekskomedi (som jag ju älskar). Denna gången dock med tre personer, så det blir invecklat och tjaa invecklat. Men både intressant och kul att titta på utifrån förutfattade meningar. | A romantic comedy (which I love). This time about three people, so yes complicated. Interesting to watch and to think about the situation based on your own judgement. 

American Crime Story - The People vs OJ Simpson - denna var jätteintressant att titta på. Inte för mig för att Robert Kardashian var med utanför att vi 1) bodde i San Fransisco när detta hände och följde utvecklingen live, 2) min ex-man Hamish absoluta favoritsport är amerikansk fotboll så visste hur stor OJ Simpson var och 3) hans faster och farbror bodde i Brentwood, LA, på samma gata, där det hela hände. Fascinerande och skrämmande berättelse ur verkliga livet. | Really really interesting to watch. For me not the fact that Robert Kardashian was part of it but 1) we lived in San Fransisco when all this happened and we followed it live, 2) my ex-husband Hamish really loves American Football so we knew how big OJ Simpson was and 3) his aunt and uncle lived in Brentwood, LA at the same street, where all this happened. Fascinating and really scary about the justice system from real life! 

Fargo season 3 - Fortsatt i Minnesota precis som i de två föregående säsongerna och det fortsätter att var kallt och 70-tal och lika bra!! Har sett 3 avsnitt men det ser riktigt lovande ut. | Minnesota continues to be the center, like in the two previous seasons and it continues to be cold and 70' and equally good! Have seen three episodes and longing for the next one. 

The Affair season 2 - fortsätter att se på denna serien när jag är hemma och den är lågstämt men dramatisk, och innehåller alla komponenter i en slitsam skiljsmässa. Kan inte se flera avsnitt i sträck för det är så mycket känslor. Fortsätter att se den... | Continue to see this when in Stockholm. It is low key but dramatic with all the ingredients going through a divorce. Not to binge-watching, but will continue to see it while in Stockholm...

Designated Survivor - Mimmi & jag tycker om tv-serien 24 och tycker man om Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland), som vi gör, så är detta en mix mellan 24 och West Wing (en av de första serierna om Vita Huset från 00-talet). Me like. | Mimmi & I really liked the series 24 and if you like Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) as we do, then this is a mix between 24 and West Wing (one of the first series about the White House from the 00'). Me like. 

Grace and Frankie season 3 - här är Martin Sheen tillbaka (från West Wing). En komedi och denna kommer jag att förknippa med min fantastiska vecka i Köpenhamn med svägerskan Tess. | Here Martin Sheen back (from West Wing). A comedy and I will always connect this with my fabulous week in Copenhagen together with my sister-in-law Tess. 

House of Cards season 5 - släpps den 30 maj. Hoppas hoppas att den går att se i Österrike. Sällan sett en serie där alla är otrevliga och egoistiska. Men den är värd all tid för den är intressant, trots alla otrevlig karaktärer. | Released in Sweden 30th of May. Cross fingers that I can see it in Austria. But it is rather seldom I watch a series with so many unpleasant and egoistic characters. But worth watching since it is really interesting.
