Hej, idag är sista dagen här på Idwala Game Lodge. Hur fort kan en vecka gå egentligen? Vi kom förra torsdagen och imorgon åker vi vidare till Johannesburg. Vi njuter i 1000% här och allt är fantastiskt; vädret, vännerns, stället vi bor på, maten, djuren och allt. Idag har luften var så varm och torr att man blir torr i näsan av att andas. Men hur fantastiskt är det inte?

Och vet ni vad ni ser ovan? Jo, falkbebisar!! Är de inte söta?

Hello, today is the last day here at Idwala Game Lodge. How fast can a week pass by? We arrived last thursday and we are leaving tomorrow, heading to Johannesburg. We are enjoying ourselfs 1000% and everything is fantastic; weather, company, the place, the food, the animal and everything. Today it has been hot and dry and my nose gets all dry, different feeling. But still can't take in how fabulous this is!!!

And can you see what is in the photo above? Falcon babies. Cute, right?

Vi var uppe vid fem imorse igen, men oj vad trött jag var. Det kom ett nytt par igår och vi satt uppe till elva så inte så många timmars sömn som jag behöver. Men vad gör man inte för att se allt detta vackra.

We was up at five this morning as well, but oh dear how tired were I?? A new couple arrived yesterday so we stayed up longer and got less hours of sleep then I need. But just to suck it up with a game drive waiting.

Man bränner marken här för att ge näring åt ny gröda.

They are burning the ground in order to get life and place to new grass.

Och allt är gult för här är ju vår, men man ser att det långsamt börjar bli grönt över allt.

And everything is yellow since it is spring time, but slowly you see green sprouts everywhere.

Vi träffar nya och gamla vänner. Och herre jesus vad de är trevliga här!!! Ovan ser ni Keith, Levita och Sandi. Vi har huserat ihop i över en vecka nu; först Mozambique och nu safari och även i Johannesburg på fredag. Kul!! Vi skrattar och skrattar och skrattar...

And we are meeting new and old friends. And oh dear how good time we have and everyone is soooo nice, unbelievable!! Above you see Keith, Levita and Sandi. We have been together for over a week now; first Mozambique, now the Game Lodge and then in Johannesburg as well. We are having such a great time!!

Lite flodhästar med bebsisar. En fördel med att åka hit denna tiden på året är att flera av djuren har precis fått bebisar. Fast kan inte riktigt säga att de är söta, eller?

Some hippos with babies. And this is one of the advantages with travelling here at this time of the year, many animals have just got babies. But you cant say that they are cure, or?

En giraff i soluppgången vid kvart i sex imorse, därav deg gula ljuset.

A giraffe in the sun rise, quarter to six this morning, therefore the yellow light.

Och varje morgon spelar vi denna gräsliga tyska sången, men den ger en sådan energi, så alla vill höra den. Nu skall vi strax grilla och sedan blir det nog en tidig kväll. Imorgon blir det yoga och sedan packning. Vi ses! Catharina

And every morning we are playing to horrible German song, but it gives you such energy, so everyone wants to hear it. Now off for some dinner and then early to bed. Tomorrow yoga and then pack our things and leave for next leg at our trip. See you tomorrow!! Ciao Catharina

Sun Downer.

Hej, här i Sydafrika är det lite standard att göra en sk Sun Downer, mao man åker och tittar på solnedgången och dricker några drinkar. Helmysigt!

Hello, here in South Africa it seems to be a standard thing to do a Sun Downer, i.e you are watching the sun go down with some drinks. Very very nice!

När vi är på safari, så gör vi bara en tur på morgonen (mer om det imorgon) och på eftermiddagen gör vi lite andra utflykter. I helgen gjorde vi två Sun Downer, en vid en platå och en vid ett litet vattenfall.

At at the Game Reserve, we are only doing a game drive in the morning (more about that tomorrow) and in the afternoon we are doing other things, such as doing a Sun Downer. In the week-end we did two, one at a plateau and one by a waterfall.

Vi tar med lite att dricka och lite snacks. Packar upp tältborden och tittar på medans solen går ner. Fantastiskt mysigt! Och som ni ser har vi riktigt varmt, upp till 35 grader, så shorts och t-shirt är det som gäller.

We bring along drinks and some snacks. The tent tables are unpacked and while the sun goes down we talk, laugh and drink some drinks. So nice!! And as you can see, we are all in summer clothes, nice and warm.

Keith, som har samlat ihop oss alla, har massa vänner här på farmen och för hans födelsedag. Och för oss är det både nya och gamla. Kul!!!

Keith, our host, have gathered a lot of friends for the week-end and his birthday. And for us it is both old and new friends. Enjoying every moment!

Nu skall vi strax åka iväg på en Sun Downer till. Flera av våra vänner som varit här i helgen, åkte i morse, så nu är vi 7 personer, från tidigare 16. Lite lugnare, lite mer tid att bara sitta i en varma vinden och njuta av den fantastiska utsikten från vår lodge. Vi ses imorgon! Catharina

Now we are soon of for another Sun Downer. Many of our friends that was here for the week-end, left this morning. so now we are only 7, previously 16. Quite and relaxing and just sitting here in the warm wind and enjoying the view from our lodge. See you tomorrow! Ciao Catharina

Safari & Big 5.

Hej, nu är vi på safari. Närmare bestämt i Nambiti Game Reserve och vi bor på den privata lodgen Idwala. Vi kom igår tidig kväll och imorse var vi uppe på vår första tur. Vi steg upp kvart över fem och vi tog en snabb kaffe, klädde oss varmt och sedan var vi på väg.

Hi, we are now on safari. We are in Nambiti Game Reserve and we are staying at the private lodge Idwala. We arrived early last night and this morning we took our first tour. We went up quarter part five this morning and drank a coffee, dressed warm and then we were off.

Big 5 är målet på en safari och för följande djur ingår i Big 5; lejon, elefanter, afrikansk buffel, noshörning och leopard. Och vi såg 4 av 5 på första turen. Vilken lycka! Vi såg alla utom leoparden.

Big 5 is the goal during safari game driving and the following animals are the Big 5; the lion, elephant, african buffalo, rhino and leopard. We saw 4 out of 5 on our first tour! We were so happy!! Only animal that we missed was the leopard.

Nedan ser ni några bilder från morgonens tur. Vi var ute i fyra timmar, från 6 - 10. Helt fantastiskt! Vi såg massa andra djur också som giraffer, zebras, gnu mm mm Och vi såg också massa av alla djuren.

Below you see some of the photos I took this morning. We were out four hours; 6-10. Absolutely fabulous! And we also saw a lot of other animals as well such as giraffes, zebras, gnu etc etc. And we saw a lot of all animals.

När vi är på game drive tar vi alltid en paus, och då dricker vi half and half; kaffe och varm choklad tillsammans. Så gott!! Ni kommer att få se massa bilder under kommande dagar från vad vi hittar på här! Nu blir det middag med vänner och här blir vi som mest 18 person under helgen. Så safari och party!!! Vi ses! When you are going for a drive you always take a break and we then drink half and half; coffee and hot chocolate. Delicious!! You will see a lot of photos during this upcoming week. Hope you will not get tired of all the photos. Now it will dinner and a lot of friends will arrive during this week-end, up to 18 people. So safari and party!! Good combination!! See you, ciao!
