Hallstatt. Austria.

Hej, i förrgår gjorde jag och maken en liten utflykt! Hade sett vackra bilder på denna lilla by, bara 6 mil från oss, och ville gärna åka dit. Så sagt och gjort. Kossan styrde till Hallstatt. 

Hello, the day before yesterday we made a road trip! Had seen some beautiful pics from this small village, only 60 km from us, and really wanted to go. So said and done!  

Ni som följer mig på Instagram har redan sett några av dessa bilder, men de är så vackra så det tåls att titta på igen eller hur?  

You who follow me on Instagram have already seen some of these pics. But it is so beautiful so worth seeing again, right?  

Hallstatt ligger vid Hallstätter See i Oberösterreich. Byn ligger omgivet av bergb och sträcker sig längs sjön. Sååå vackert!! Här lever man av två saker; salt och turism.

Vi bestämde oss för att ta de mindre vägarna på hit-och dit vägen. Och här i Österrike blir man belönad. Serpentinvägar, vackra vyer och fina små byar som swichar förbi. 

Hallstatt is situated by Hallstätter Lake in Oberösterreich. The village is surrounded by mountains and stretches along lake. Sooo beautiful! Here you mainly live from two things; salt and tourism.  

We decided to take the smaller roads instead of the high way. And here in Austria you are rewarded for that with beautiful scenery, the whole time!!  

Tydligen finns det en replika av Hallstatt i staden Luoyang, Kina. Såååå här vimlade det av kineser. Som ville se originalet. De serverade till och med nudlar och grönt te på flera uteserveringar, och flera skyltar var på kinesiska. Det har jag ALDRIG sett i Österrike tidigarr, hehe  

In China, in the town Luoyang, they have made a replica of Hallstatt. Sooo there were so many Chinese people here! And many signs in Chinese. Never seen that before in Austria!  

Vi fick parkera en bit bort från byn, men det gjorde ingenting. Massa massa turister men ändå, så vackert!!! Väl värt varenda minut! Vi tänker att vi skall åka tillbaka när hösten är här för att uppleva alla vackra höstfärger, och färre turister. 

We needed to park outside the village and walk a bit, but that was ok! And lots and lots of tourists, but you understand it, because it is really magic! We will come back for the Autumn Foliage. 

Vi har tänkt att äta en sen lunch men allt var lite för dyrt och för mycket folk. Så vi strosade runt i byn. Och jag fotograferade massor.

We thought about having lunch here but decided not too. Too expensive and too many people everywhere. So we just walked around! And I took a lot of photos. 

Och visst är det vackert!!!

Var är du? | Where are you?

Hej, lärde mig en ny sak när vi var på semester. Men det kan ju hända att du redan har kolla på detta? Ibland är jag tidigt på bollen och ibland riktigt sen, hehe 

Detta förutsätter att du använder WhatsApp (men går också att göra via Google Maps) och är en riktigt enkelt sätt att skicka info till din kompis om var du är någonstans, om varken du eller kompisen har kolla på det. Eller det är krångligt att beskriva vägen. 

Hello, I learned this on our vacation. But you maybe already knew this? Well, I didn't and thought it was a good tips. Sometimes I'm an early adopter and sometimes I'm rather late, or very late, hehe

This is for WhatsApp (but you can also do it via Google Maps) and it is a really easy way to share information on where you are to your friend, if either of you haven't got a clue. Or if it is difficult to explain how to get where you are f.ex.

1) Öppna WhatsApp och gå till den kontakten som du vill skicka din platsinfo till. | Open up WhatsApp and go to the person that you want to send the information to. 

2) Tryck på pluset, nere i vänstra hörnet. | Click on the plus, in the lower left corner. 

3) Då kommer ovanstående meny upp och tryck på Platsinfo | Then this menu will show up (in Swedish I know but it will look the same in all languages) and push Location.

4) Tryck på antingen Dela livepostion, Nuvarande plats eller om du hittar namnet på där du är i listan. | Either push Share Live Position, Current Location or if you find the place where you are in the scroll list. 

5) Ange hur länge du vill att informationen skall vara tillgänglig. Och tryck på skicka. | Decide on how long you want to share this information. And hit send. 

Och detta är det som din kompis får! Tja, nu tog jag en bild från när vi var i Kroatien, skickad till maken. Pröva! Smidigt och enkelt!

Detta förutstätter dock att du 1) har uppkoppling och 2) vill ha på platsinfo för just WhatsApp. Ser din kompis dig så är det väl så att fler kan se, men så är det väl med mycket av all dataanvändning idag. Både positivt och negativt. Men du kan ju stänga av Visa Platsinfo när du inte vill använda denna funktionen. Ciao Catharina

And this is what your friend will get! Well, exept that I have pics from two different places, hehe Both Flachau and Korcula, sent to my husband. Try it! Really simple and easy. 

However, you have to 1) be connected and 2) willing to share your location for WhatsApp. Is your friend seeing you probably more can see you, but that is how it is with using the internet today. both positive and negative. But you can always turn off Show Current Position when you are now using it. Ciao Catharina

Så kom då dagen då vi behövde åka hem. Vi var här i sex dagar men det kändes som längre då vi hade så mysigt här. 

And finally the day came when we needed to go home. Our stay lasted six days but if felt longer than because we had such a great time here.

Vi klev upp vid kvart över fyra, packade de sista sakerna och tog bilen vi lånat till hamnen. Det var så vackert, och visst tänker man att man borde gå upp tidigt i vanliga fall också för att se allt det vackra, men oj man blir ju trött vid tio-snåret då...hehe

We were up at quarter to four, packed the last things and took the car we have borrowed to the harbor. It was so beautiful and you do think when you are up this early that it is a good thing to do, to see things in the early morning light, but at 10 am I'm dead tired... hehe

Och som jag skrev i inlägget om vår resa hit, så kan man inte reservera plats så vi körde helt sonika hit vår bil vid nio-tiden kvällen innan... Innan vi körde hit vår bil så passade vi på att köpa lite frukt och grönsaker att ta med oss hem. Alltid gott att kunna njuta av solmogna frukter och grönsaker hema en vecka till eller två. 

And as I wrote in my posting on our way here, we couldn't reserve any place at the boat beforehand. The way to do it is to park the car in line at the harbor, which we did the night before... And before that we bought some fruit and vegetables to bring home. Always good to bring home the fresh fruit and vegetables for a week or so at home. 

Och båten gick från Vela Luka direkt till Split, ca 3,5 timmar. Smidigt. Inte någon lyx precis men kostade med bilen ca 600 kr, så bra pris. Och kaffet här nere är alltid gott precis som i Italien. 

And it was really easy, when we knew how and when to get a space at the boat, with a direct line from Vela Luka to Split. 3,5 hours. Not very fancy but good enough and for a good price, approx 50 euro. And good coffee exactly like in Italy. 

Hejdå Vela Luka och Korcula för denna gången! Vi ses absolut igen, snart hoppas jag!!

Hello Split! Men här åkte vi bara igenom stan och ut på motorvägen för att sedan åka norrut. Vi hade ca 800 km hem. Det var mycket traffic men det gick bra att köra, skönt! Vi hörde denna gången på rockklassiker och vi sjöng högt tillsammans. Och pratade om vilken fantastiskt mysig vecka vi haft tillsammans och med våra kompisar. Ciao Catharina

Hello Split!! And here we just drove through the town to the highway, going north. We had approx 800 km to drive. A lot of traffic but it went well. We listened to rock classic and sang loudly together. And we also talked about our lovely holiday that we have had together and with friends. Ciao Catharina

A Mama Mia Kind of Day.

Hej, ännu en fantastisk dag! Och det kändes verkligen som en Mamma-Mia-Dag. Fast vi dansade och sjöng inte så mycket. Men vi spelade Oliver hela dagen!

Vår sista dag på Korcula blev vi inbjudna till Sandi och Lavitas ännu ej färdigbyggda hus. Det ligger mitt ute i ingenstans, nästa i alla fall, typ 15 minuter med bil från Vela Luka. Och här bygger det en fantastiskt hus och tomten går ända ner till havet. 

Hello, another fantastic day! And it really felt like a Mamma-Mia-Kind-Of-Day. But we didn't dance or sing that much, but we played Oliver the whole day. 

Our last day we were all invited to Sandi and Lavitas house. The house is not yet ready but it didn't matter. It is situated in the middle of nowhere, or maybe 15 minutes with car from Vela Luka. And here they are building a fantastic house with a lot that goes all the way down to the sea. 

Alltså tänk att ha en tomt som den här!

And yes, to a lot like this!!

Två våningar. Muren ni ser är delen på en infinity pool, och här kommer överskottsvattnet att rinna. Så fint!

Det serverades förrrätt på deras favoritställe, under olivträden, på träbänkar och plastbord. Så enkelt.Så gott. Så fantastiskt. 

They served a simple but so tasty starters at their favorite place, under the olive trees, on simple benches and plastic tables. But so fantastic!! And delicisous!! 

Kaprisen är har de plockat själva, förra årets skörd, och lagt in. Alltså, hur gott kan det bli?

Sedan var det naturligvis daxs för ett plurr i det blå!!! 

Then it was time for a swim.

And some cozy time in the water!

Sedan serverades grillade sardiner med sallad. Vin och vatten. Kaffe och kaka. Allt så enkelt och så gott! 

And then they served grilled sardines with salad. Wine and water. Coffee and cake. Everything so delicious!! 

Inget rinnande vatten än så de behövdes bäras dit i dunkar. 

No running water so needed to bring it here. 

Sedan satt vi och njöt, pratade, skrattade och badade igen, pratade, skrattade och njöt av denna fantastiska dag tills solen började gå ner. Då var det dags att åka hem... 

Then we just enjoyed the rest of the day with talking and laughing, swimming, talking and laughing. Just simply enjoying this beautiful day until the sunset. Then it was time to go home...

Vi fick skjuts av nyfunna vänner från London med båt från dörr till dörr. Inte så illa...

We got a ride from our newly found friends from London, from door to door, with the boat. Not to bad...

Tänk att hyra detta huset! För de kommer att hyra ut det, åtminstonde till en början. Och vi vill vara första gästerna!!! Ingen bil behövs, bara båt. För att handla och åka på utflykter. Resten av tiden bara vara här och njuta av just detta, bara detta! Vi ses! Ciao Catharina

And what a awesome thing to rent this house! They will rent it out, to begin with. And we want to be the first guests!!! No car needed, only a boat. To go shopping for groceries and excursions. Rest of the time just be here and enjoy just this, only this!! See you! Ciao Catharina

A day at island Proizd.

Hej, jag har några inlägg till från Korcula att dela med mig av. Hoppas ni inte har tröttnat? Och om nu mycket var osedvanligt dyrt här på Korcula så är det en sak som förlåter allt!!! Och det är havet här nere!!! Alltså hur fantastiskt vackert är det inte? Vattnet så klart, så salt och så rent och stränderna är mestadels klippor. Och här finns oändligt många orörda stränder och bukter, precis överallt.  Bilden ovan på Keith, mig och maken är INTE från en pool!??!

Hello, I have yet a couple of postings from Korcula to share with you. Hope you are not tired yet? And as I wrote in the previous posting many things are really expensive here but one thing forgives it all!!! And it is the sea!! It is stunningly beautiful!! the water is so salty, so fresh and so clear and the beaches are mostly cliffs. And all over the island are untouched hidden and/or secluded beaches. And the pic above on Keith, me and my husband is NOT from a pool!!??!

Som sagt, samling på Cafe Bar Ingleze. Här fanns bra wifi så vi passar på att uppdatera oss, hehe Här med Keith, Lisa och Keiths döttrar Gaby och Alyssia med pojkvänner. 

And, yes every morning we met at Cafe Bar Ingleze. Here they have really good wifi so an update on social media was needed, of course. Here with Keith, Lisa and Keiths daughters Gaby and Alyssia with boyfriends. 

Denna dagen hade vi bestämt att vi skulle ta båtarna till ön Proizd som ni ser närmast ovan på flygfotot. Ni ser Vela Luka längst in i bukten längst bort. 

This day we had decided to take the boats to the island Proizd, that you see closest on the pic above. You can vaguely see Vela Luka in the bay furthers away. 

Vi vuxna tog den stora båten. 

The grown-up took the big boat. 

Ungdomarna fick åka ribbåt med Sandi och Lavita. 

And the youngsters the small boat. 

Sedan tog vi en kort promenad över ön...

We took a short walk across the island...

...och kom hit!!! Alltså förstår ni hur vackert det är här? Och här fanns ingen stoluthyrning, ingen kiosk eller något så en riktigt fantastisk naturstrand. 

...and were welcomed by this view!! Breathtaking right? And here was nothing; no sun chairs to rent, no kiosk or similar, just nature.

Kargt landskap, vilket jag älskar! Men här satt vi inte alls...

Sedan var det dags för en sen lunch. För mig blev bläckfisksallad, igen, till förrätt och svart risotto till huvudrätt. Mums!!

Then it was time for a late lunch. I took octopus salad, again, as a starter and then black risotto as a main. Delicious. 

Vi tog båten tillbaka vid sex. Dags att duscha och byta om för att hinna i tid till Cafe Bar Ingleze, där vi hade reserverat bord, för att se matchen Kroatien-England i fotbolls vm. 

We took the boat back at six. Time for a shower and a change to get in time to Cafe Bar Ingleze for the game Croatia - England. 

Här skulle jag lätt kunna spendera ett par veckor. Med egen båt. Det enda som behövs. 

Here I could easily spend a couple of weeks. Just having your own boat and go back and forward. All you need. 

Vattenpolo är en stor sport i Kroatien, och man tillhör den absolut toppen i världeliten. Och såg ni i den kroatiska publiken under fotbolls vm folk med konstiga mössor? Ja, de är vatttenpolomössor. 

Water Polo is a very big sport in Croatia, and they are one of the best in the world. Maybe you saw people in the audience with a strange hat? Well, that is a Water Polo Hat. 

Maken och Keith ville bada igen så sagt och gjort. De dök i för ett snabbt dopp. 

En alldeles fantastisk dag som jag kommer att minnas länge. Vi ses! Ciao Catharina
